His dribbling might be mechanic to some degree, but he’s still a lot better than, say, RJ Barrett in that regard. The athleticism, versatility and defensive ability, however, are off the charts. The guy is as good as it gets when talking about long 3&D wings. Needless to say, he’d average 30 on any other team, as indicated by the 26.6 ppg he put up last year.

If Jaylen is so good then how come he needs four other all star caliber players on his team

Who on that team besides Tatum is all-star calibur? Porzingis and White are role players...Holiday has been great but he is somewhat past his prime...maybe borderline all-star level...but Porzinigis and White are certainly nowhere near all-star level...they are actually profiting from all the attention being drawn to Tatum and Brown....

I think you’re going to be surprised only a couple of weeks from now. Did you watch any Boston games?

I’ll admit I was very surprised by it.

Around 15...

Porzingis is shooting a career low from 3 and the worst FT % of the last 5 seasons....he is snatching a career low in rebounds...Really the only area he is better is field goal percentage which is a direct result of the attention that Tatum and Brown get. White is the definition of a role player as well. Both of them, definition of good role players---nothing more.

Jalen Johnson is getting 15points/8rebounds/3assists on 10 shots as a 4th option. All-star?

KP is absolutely an all-star talent, he's just not going to be voted in and isn't a #1 or 2 option on the team. Averaging 20 PPG as the 3rd option, while playing 30 minutes and shooting 13 shots a game is incredibly efficient. Take the name out of those stats, and the opinion changes on that.

Maybe Antet is a bit of a jealous hater: he really lowered his shoulder into Wemby in an aggressive way on that last one where he was blocked. Maybe just wary of being blocked.

Porzingis averaged 23points on 15.7 shots with the Wizards and no one was even remotely talking all-star last season. That efficiency is pretty comparable. The season before he scored 22.1 points on 15.1 shots...again very comparable efficiency and no one was thinking all-star.

Didnt say he was a bad player, he's good. But he's not a max contract guy and as you mentioned his handle is below average. If he wasn't surrounded by so much talent I think he'd be exposed a bit.

I don’t think you’re wrong, but I also don’t think he’s overrated. A guy with that profile gets the max anywhere. 26.6 ppg, most-athletic 3&D wing at that age. Come on.

When he accepts that supermax contract...the expectations are for you to be able carry an offense as a #1 option. It raises the bar to the Embiid , Gianis, Tatum, Luka, SGA level.... The fact that other less deserving players get it doesn't change my opinipn on the player.

It's that whole "I got Money" and that makes me more relevant concept that I don't agree with. It's Kat Williams versus Kevin Hart. :D

And? That's an extremely common trope amongst the NBA stars. Nobody is voting a losing team's player into the all-star game. Kyle arguably played better with flashier highlight reels, and he still wasn't an all-star. If you're narrowing your definition of making an all-star team vs. being an all-star level talent, then there's no problem with JB not making the all-star team last season.

Hey yall it looks like the Kings are putting Davion Mitchell up for trade. Could be worth a low cost look since PG depth is a need.

They're at crossroad, JK is maybe their next franchise player and most teams would can their coach in favor of their future superstars. But Kerr is a superstar coach too. I still think they'd rather let Kerr go than JK, esp if they don't even make playoffs this year. But it don't hurt for us to take a stab at any potential JK trade :P
