He's a UFA and we only have early-bird rights for him, so nah we can't match. But 14.5M is pretty much an average starting Center salary...Mitch is the 15th highest paid center this season at 15.6M.

And if he likes it here but is getting offered more, he can sign a 1+1 deal and then opt out next summer when we'd have his full-bird rights.

Not sure he will be though. Centers generally don't get paid as much as other starters.

I see a lot of momentum for iHart to remain the starter, even though he's not the defender Mitch is. Are those in favor of keeping iHart as a starter also in favor of resigning him to a deal greater than Mitch's? How high should the Knicks be willing to go to resign him? 15 mil? 18?

If he keeps playing this well you may be right, but keep in mind that there are only a handful teams with capspace to begin with...some of them already with a starting Center on a big salary in place.

Eh Julius just bodied OG when he was a Raptor, doesn't stop OG from being a beast. Caruso may not be on OG's level, but he's a special defender to.

I’m not exactly dancing in the streets after this win. As good as our starters were, the bench is that bad. The bulls were on the 2nd night of a back to back with 2 nba offensive players and they hung around a lot of night. I don’t think it was us not trying either.

On the other hand derozan and Coby white shot out their asses and the bulls gave us a fight but we still won going away easily. And our starting lineup dominated. We can find a way to patch up the bench at some point

Us out talenting the bulls, when they’re on B2B is just whatever. I’ll be willing to believe depending on how this looks on Friday. There’s a lot of promise but we’ll still need to add a third scorer and/or ball handler if we want to make conference title run.
