I think there are a lot of young, former 1sts out there that just haven't found the right situation, for whatever reason and could thrive elsewhere on the cheap. Half of the pacers roster is basically this.

Is anybody able to post the article with Stephan A. Smith predicting Adrian Griffin will be fired? Its from MJS…. If possible thank you in advance. Otherwise if it can’t be posted I’m just curious a brief summary of it. I think it’s only a matter of time but really hoping it’s before the All Star break.

I’m really interested in this trade. I love Mitchell from a value perspective. I think sac may view him as just salary filler in a trade at this point, and I think he could provide more to us than Jevon ultimately did. That would be a great get.

Hunter, I’m really interested in your thoughts on. He’s had stints of defending some of the elite wings as well as anyone, but it doesn’t seem like his defensive impact has ever fully been all that great. Then on the flip side, he’s been a mostly meh-efficiency offensive player. Is it just motor problems?

I think both dudes would probably benefit from playing alongside Giannis greatly, and there’s considerable upside for us in this deal.

It's basically just summary of this video. Griffin talk starts around the 4 minute mark.

Yes and at the current state this will bring up some interesting pressure points.

Let's assume Horst strikes out/chooses to do nothing at the deadline and the roster sits at 15.

-Will ownership allow us to waive a guaranteed contract to bring someone in?(significantly increasingly tax)

-In the event we are allowed by ownership to sign a player, which one of the golden siblings gets sacrificed? I doubt they move on from Green or Livingston.

-Bucks have done well in the buyout market in the past, but it will be interesting to see if Dame can help recruit in this regard.

Wes was off the scrap heap too wasn't he? There has to be someone that plays D that's going to be available right? Maybe if we're lucky someone like Delon Wright gets bought out, doubtful PJ is with the extra year. Moving Beasley to the bench and replacing Payne would probably help our D at least a little bit, I might consider trading Beasley too if he has value since he's just a rental anyways altho I love his shooting. Jae will be back soon which should help a little bit, hopefully he doesn't take all of AJJ & Marjon's time as opposed to Pat/Bobby.

Beasley
Off Rating: 120.2
Def Rating: 113.4
Net Rating: 6.8

Payne
Off Rating: 116
Def Rating: 115.3
Net Rating: 0.7

Switching Payne for Beasley makes them worse.

I think he's saying replacing Payne in general, not replacing Beasley with Payne.

SAS:

"I don’t care that they’re 23-6 against everybody else outside of their 1-4 record against the Indiana Pacers," Smith said on "First Take" Thursday.

"I’m not wishing for this," Smith said. "We all know where I stand with Black coaches getting an opportunity. I don’t think there’s anybody that’s spoken out about that more than I have. Having said that, fair is fair, Adrian Griffin is going to get himself fired."

"Miami can beat Milwaukee again," Smith claimed. "And oh, by the way, Philly can beat Milwaukee."

“Milwaukee might not even be a top four team when all is said and done if they keep this nonsense up," Smith continued. "They better get it together, especially Adrian Griffin."

“You are the successor to Mike Budenholzer," Smith said. "When have we complained about a Mike Budenholzer defense? When you look at it from that perspective and you know the ingredients to winning has already been displayed because you’re just a few years from capturing a championship. Nobody is going to go for this level of porous defense that we’ve been seeing from the Milwaukee Bucks."

This is the NBA," Smith said. "You know what other teams are going to do — look (at) what Indiana is doing and make sure you do it themselves."

"We go small you can’t stop us," Smith added about the Pacers' approach when they play the Bucks. "Can you guard the smaller dudes? No, they can’t. Haliburton is having a field day with them. They’re busting their you-know-little-what.”

“We know Damian Lillard is a superstar, we understand that and we know he’s been exceptional for the most part," Smith said. "But his defense has been questionable to be kind. When you’re the replacement to Jrue Holiday the reality of the situation is one of two things (have) got to happen. You have to elevate your level of defensive prowess or you have to be so explosive, so other worldly offensively that it offsets what you’re lacking defensively."

Confused why anyone is putting any ounce of thought into what SAS has to say?
Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

Like SAS or not (I don't), he's absolutely right. If there's something he said in that blurb that's inaccurate let's hear it instead of just dismissing it because it was SAS.

Massively unfair comparison because of who they share the court with.

SAS usually sucks, and he didn't get into any of the X's and O's or statistical stuff there, but generally he's on point with those comments. And it is important because whether we like it or not, dude is a massive sports personality with a huge platform. him speaking like that does hold some weight across a broader audience.

Also, agreed that I would like to see them give Tyty and Wenyen a chance. Like just for a few games, give them like 15 mpg to see if there's anything there at all.

How about saying Philly and Miami can beat us when they actually haven't beaten us? How about saying Dame has been exceptional when he hasn't been anything close to that?

I know there is a bad taste in Bucks fan's mouth with him but he's exactly what we need. His 3p% is a little low but he's shot it well enough in the playoffs the last 4 years that I trust it + he'd be hopefully taking open corner 3s and not pull up defended 3s. I would trade anyone but our big 3 for Smart in a heartbeat.
