PG Rockets - Too Little, Too Late

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Sun Jan 7, 2024 3:48 am

Played better defense (sometimes) but the offense was crappy (looking at you Dame).

Missed 13 free throws.

Ice cold from deep.

Giannis always plays his ass off

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

This team has been going as Lillard goes. We're 12-0 when Lillard shoots .500 or better. 13-11 when he doesn't (ncluding 2 games Lillarrd missed).

They didn't win but that 2nd half honestly reinvigorated me a bit. Starting Ajax over Beas, going small with Giannis at the 5 & Ajax at the 4 for a bit, AJ Green 4th quarter minutes, closing with MarJon at the 2, etc. Honestly Griff's best half coaching in a long time imo

It shouldn't be a shock our 2nd half defense was much improved and we won the half with Beas, Payne, & Bobby playing fewer minutes. Now hopefully Griff sticks with starting Ajax over Beas. If he goes back to the same starting 5 that will be quite frustrating.
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

Giannis has averaged 46/15/5 the past two games just for us to barely scrape by a 5-29 team and lose to a .500 team lol.

Generational player looking as good as he ever has and we're going to piss it all away.

Fire the bum ass coach, get the useless title team holdovers + Payne outta here, and give 34 a fighting chance.

Dame passed up a shot at the end there as well. Whatever is going on with him I hope he can get right soon.

Good carry job from Giannis. Can't play as bad as we did in the first half and expect to win. A ton of our bad habits got us again.

Stotts must have been a good coach, he saw after a few practices what Grief is about and run away

I'm sure it had nothing to do with the Rockets letting up after a 20 point halftime lead. But yeah, give Grief credit.

This team looks so much better when they do not give minutes to a back up big.
Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

1. I'm sad Houston still plays celebrate by cool and the gang after a game and we don't.
2. No way I trust Marjon in the fourth of a playoff game
3. Giannis played 39 minutes and a high level and we still lost
4. Advanced stats nerds- has brolo hurt us more than Giannis shooting 3s this year? The volume may make up for the variance in percentage.
5. Jeff Green will be hitting 3s against the bucks long after I'm gone

I sure hope Dame is not permanently broken. I'm sure he's not though, everything will be fine

Give Dame a few days off to fly back to Portland, see his kids, and get his head right. It's just the right thing to do
