It’s possible I’ve mixed him up with Cam Reddish as a poor attitude/IQ/effort guy but that might be my mistake. Or maybe I had a reason for it and just forgot what it was lol.

Doesn’t even have to be him but something along these lines. A talent upgrade, we can resign that can be around long term. I think his shooting #’s would go up with looks he’d have here but that’s just a guess.

48% of his 3s are from the corners and 4.1 of his 5.5 3PA per game are wide open, 1.2 per game are open. I guarantee you he will not be getting better looks on the Celtics.

Great point, I didn’t realize this. Thanks for the insight, would hope to see him get his 3fg% to above average but that might not happen.

Yeah Bey's shooting is wildly overrated. Bey is shooting 36% on wide open threes this season and for his 4 seasons he's registered 36, 44, 40 and 36, which is not impressive for a guy who takes so many corner threes.

My gut feeling is Philly makes a move and then we get one of Batum/Covington off a buyout, more likely Covington

He's from Newcastle, NH, right near me, and went to Governor's Academy in Mass, then did a year at Phillips Exeter as a post grad.

I think Brad is right on about needing another big wing but someone who is youngish. Although tatum did an incredible job guarding sga in the 4th quarter and jaylen did a great job on halliburton, that task is best left to a youngish big wing. Not sure brissett is enough offensively to play much in a playoff series. Young fresh legs give us and other contending teams like the bucks problems. Fortunately sga is in the western conference but halliburton and banchero can be problems even with our overall great team defense. A Miles Bridges type (not saying Brad would have the stomach for him) would make the Celtics unstoppable even with the occasional offensive funk or lull especially in the playoffs. That type could be chasing halliburton or banchero and render the best player on their respective teams ineffectual.

Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Pretty sure that we can't trade for OPJ unless we send out matching salaries. He does not fit in the Grant TPE. His salary is 6,300,000 and the TPE is 6,202,000. He makes 98,000 too much and there is no wriggle room from what I have read.

There's a $250K buffer (used to be $100K). Trading for OPJ using the Grant TPE would be legal.

For non-simultaneous traded player exceptions, generally called “trade exceptions,” the padding is also increased from $100,000 to $250,000. The Atlanta Hawks have a $6,292,440 trade exception for Justin Holiday that expires on February 9, 2024. As of July, the Hawks can take back a player earning up to $6,542,440.
