The 2023 Philadelphia eagles is the biggest collapse in sports history. I’ve never seen anything like this before.

I should say so

Only the 3rd time in nfl history it’s happened. I’m pretty confident sirianni is gone

I’m 50/50 on if sirianni is gone or not but only because it’d be absolutely unheard of to fire a coach that in his first 3 years goes a combined 34-17 and makes the playoffs all 3 years.

Personally, I want him gone. I want a completely new coaching staff outside of Jeff stoutland, but I just don’t know if Lurie will completely clean house.

I guess it all comes down to who’s the most at fault for this collapse. For example, there’s been rumors for years that howie roseman controls things on the football side of things that he shouldn’t. If that’s the case, then is that really all sirianni’s fault? If anything I think howie should be in trouble for that if that’s the case. But I don’t know who’s to blame.

Sirianni is definitely at least partially at fault but I don’t know if it’s enough to fire him. Too much going on behind the scenes to really say. Howie and Lurie might sit sirianni down after the season like when they did with pederson and tell him to fire everybody and if he declines then fire him along with all his coaches. But nick might be willing to hire outside coaches, we will see, but I think at the very least nick needs a very good OC and a very good DC to be successful. I think he’s able to manage a team that he doesn’t have to control too much of but when he has to focus too much on offense or defense because the coordinators suck I think he can’t handle it. We are clearly seeing that right now.

Howies at fault for making bad choices on defense letting TJ, Kyzir and CJGJ walk

He initially made the right move cutting slay and not resigning bradberry. That was the move.

The reason Nick has been fireable is simply he had no answers. He demoted Sean desai which has resulted in disaster, his offensive scheme hasn’t grown and has essentially been AJ and devonta get open if not Jalen run. Jalen isn’t being coached well. Jalen seems like he’s winging it. And several analysts have been screaming about how the eagles have some of the worst blitz counters in football since 2021.

All teams go through stretches but to collapse like this when they essentially had a walk in to the #1 seed is nuts lol

They played Seattle, giants, cardinals, and giants

They went 1-3 In those games. For how much they paid? To have no answers? I’d say it’s an 80% chance he’s fired

This season may he 11-6 but it feels like 4-12

If they don’t fire him it’s because they think that he can coach when he has elite OC and DCs

But I don’t think lurie and company care about perception. There’s this thing out there about “how could they fire a guy who took them to a Super Bowl a year ago” but they fired the guy who won them one and got back 2 years later

Here’s the thing

They hired Nick because they believed In him offensively. And then in his first year he couldn’t call plays. Steichen happened to be amazing at it. They got lucky. I think they always wanted a guy who is innovative and can call plays. I’m not sure they want a guy who’s gonna be at the mercy of the OC. Also flat out I’m not sure I believe in his system and I don’t think they will either

It’s definitely gonna open some eyes but Jalen’s too important. I like his ability to throw the ball, can’t have him keep downgrading because of coaching. Need a coach to continue progressing him

They could also promote Dan Quinn. He’s rumored to be the favorite for the Carolina job. I could see Jerry promoting him and promoting Al Harris to DC.

I could see that but isn’t AH a MM guy ?

I think at this point he’s more of a Quinn guy.

But it’s a loving middle finger. It’s one I hope to come back here after both the eagles and cowboys lose next week

I realize that if the eagles win a playoff game it won’t move the needle for some fans but I think it will protect NS job.

It’d move the needle for me…

Backwards

There needs to be major changes. I don’t want front office people to think it’s just a run it back year

Rumor is Sirianni made Patricia the DC after Big Dom was suspended because he needed a fat Italian on the sidelines for emotional support.
