Theo had some impressive showings down the stretch last year and narrowly missed triple doubles. His shot is still a work in progress but he's proven to be a talented play maker and capable back up.

I would expect either Frank or Sumner to be cut.

We only have 2 centers on the roster, 2 pf on the roster for first 10 games.
Compared to 7-8 guards.

Also, Maledon, Bailey are both guard 2 ways. Making me believe we will bring in a front court player this week.

We really have to sign another big and we still need a real option at backup pg

Well…SURPRISE! This lazy azz front office and staff did NEITHER. Frank parked taking up a roster spot while he heals up, just to return and screw up the second unit with his pathetic play (but…but…defense! says Clifford. NOT REALLY YOU IDIOT). Keeps Sumner; would someone please honestly tell me what he did to earn a spot on this roster???

We sit here today unbalanced, lacking real depth, rolling out a nearly comical group behind our starters. No wonder we are ranked in the scrap heap of teams.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

You definitely get the feeling that whoever's on the roster by September, that's who's there year-round and if only 9 guys are healthy, oh well -- we'll save the rest of the spots for the guys whenever they're back.

Well Sumner and Frank contracts don't become guaranteed until January 10th.
We have some time to move on from them without taking on dead money.

My guess is they will see how Sumner looks over the first few weeks and then decide which one to keep for the year.
Cut the other and add a 3rd center.

We need him, but probably another month.

Our offense is fine. We need defenders.

I'm not sure our offense is fine. Guys have been hitting shots, but they're hitting a lot of difficult shots that isn't sustainable. We need the court spread more, more passing / cuts / screens and with guys who can rebound. Frank will be left wide open to take 3's that he'll brick which will clog the paint and force our skilled players to take more difficult shots. Same as when Thor, Bryce or Ish are out there. There's a good reason Frank was available in like September or whatever.

I think Frank will be a good fit to play between Miller and Melo at times vs the Donovan Mitchells, Jalen Brunson types. We would still have a lot of shooting on the court and it will keep those 2 out of foul trouble. He isn't a guaranteed 15-20 mpg player but more of a specialists that I see swinging 3-4 min stretches with his defense.

beyond dumb to keep frank for 40 games while recovering from a broken leg. his contract was 200k guaranteed, we wasted 1.8 mil and a roster spot for 1/2 season to rehab frank.

You might could say it was a form of punishment

His career is likely over now after dealing with our medical staff. They probably electively amputated the leg and sewed it back on backwards

@HornetsPR would have him listed as Questionable.
