Timing of our hot shooting streak is perfect given how shorthanded roster is.

Living in Chattanooga I’m forced to listen to Nique be an absolute jackass. He’s almost better than that stupid idiot Kamala Harris at speaking word salad.

Caleb can have all of Garys minutes as far as Im concerned.

People will say we cant overreact to Fultz after 9 minutes of play after 2 months on injury report, but Im done. We could really use his passing and playmaking but if he is shooting the ball like that, he is done. And being injury prone on top of that, I dont see why we would give him another contract. If it is TOS that is bothering him, than I feel bad for him and hope he can find some type of cure. But Im done with him.

Also if they are going to play Fultz, they should never ever ever play him with Anthony Black. Even worse, they had Cole in there with them. I dont care who is hurt, that lineup will never work.

I know when we were going into 4th qtr, i was thinking how Id rather have Queen out there than Fultz. And Mosley read my mind. I just wouldnt play Fultz. Theres no showcase for a trade, his only value is that hes an expiring contract.

Condensed game rather than full one (no FTs, reviews etc) and some plays repeat, but i use the High-Low a lot as you can get the full game picture in 20 mins.

Houstan with career night

14 for 15 with the three-ball. That is: 14 of his 15 shots were from behind the arc!

If this is what Houstan is as a player in big minutes, I think the Magic should just ride out starting Suggs as the PG and Houstan as the SG.

p.s. Fultz looked awful. His hitch has gotten worse. Yuck.

Box score thoughts:

Orlando lost the FG% battle but won the game. But not really, as Orlando won the eFG% battle easily. Orlando's red-hot 3-ball really carried the team.

Another very poor FT shooting night (63.6%). Actually Orlando losses this game if Atlanta hadn't also shot their FT so poorly. Yound and Murray combined for 7 FT misses, as a huge example.

Orlando had 57 rebounds! And 5 more offensive boards. Second chance points!

An interesting game were the starters dominated and the bench sucked. The plus-minus numbers clearly illustrated that fact.

TOS does not explain Fultz horrible hitch in his FTs.

To sum up the point about Houstan, I think Suggs needs to play as the primary PG allowing Houstan to try his hand as the primary SG. The Magic might be on to something!

This also allows Black to go back to 3rd stringer and Fultz to take up fishing.

You can't expect this level of shooting forever without a horrible downswing again.

I'll enjoy it every second it lasts after the past month. It is called....an average.

Bout time someone got green lit on the "shooters gonna shoot" mentality. Because Franz + Paolo's gravity was leaving too many players wide open for too long. It might as well be wide open 3 point drills until teams adjust again.

Additional takeaways
- I have been wondering if houstan on and off showcase was a work for an upcoming trade. Now he has elevated his value to a possible addition by subtraction piece. Or at least, makes it feels like he is softening a blow
- This was Okeke's moment. The NBA I do not think is for you unless you want a deep 3rd stringer life / G League / Two way player.
- Suggs has cemented the idea that he is our 3rd best player and possibly a core one at that
- I have always taken the "trade Franz" as a meme, if you hear me say "trade Franz" i am just living up to that meme. I am not, in any way considering it. Maybe for a top 3 player....maybe.

Edit : It was Fultz first game back. Let him get the butterflies out of his stomach and 2 games under his belt before we decide he is damage goods. Lordy that was NOT the comeback game I was expecting due to the amount of time off.

Rewatch his postgame interview, there is very visible tic whenever he takes a breath and his hands are calm and resting on the table infront. I am no expert, only assume that it is related to a mental health issue of a sort. If you throw a TOS on top of that as well, it's difficult situation to overcome.

The 3 ball shooting from Houstan, Paolo and Suggs was very nice, but we won the game mostly on defense IMO, limiting the Hawks to 103.8 ORTG and only 5 points in the OT was quite impressive. Cole and Fultz were really bad offensively IMO which made our offense pretty average despite Caleb's carer night and Paolo's heroics.

MasterGMer wrote:What are your guys' opinion on Markelle's return tonight?

He is a passer and playmaker. Which we do not have on this team. He is not a scorer like Suggs or Cole. He had 4 assists tonight. But also 0 for 4 from FT line. His form seemed to change a bit than last season.

Except spacing the floor and shooting, he is very efficient tonight. He can make others around him better.

But he is not going to create space for Franz and Paolo

His jumpshot looks completely broken and he clearly has zero confidence in it right now, off ball he was always trying to cut to the basket or position himself for the offensive board instead of spacing the floor and this was killing our spacing. We are better off without him if his shot looks anywhere near as bad as it did tonight. He bricked 4 FTs in a row and there was a visible hitch in his shooting motion on all of them. Dominique Wilkins on the Hawks feed mentioned on the his first trip to the line that his shot "got a lot of movement in it", so it's not something only noticeable by people looking for it.

IDK if he scored that much with us and technically he was drafted by PHX and Magic bought his rights.

I would probably consider moving Franz and pick around draft time for Alex Sarr Center from France!

Franz is coming up on a contract extension and we have to figure out our interior presence situation someday!

I would say there is still time to delete this, but I already responded.

Unless you meant Fultz and not Franz.
