I never thought the Kings were a serious trade partner because they have 1 trade chip and they won't trade that trade chip.

I have trouble seeing Kings winning playoff series with that team. Don't like what their potential offers are anyways. They don't have the necessary assets to move from pretender to contender IMO. Constantly having news on their lack of serious interest in Siakam is annoying.

I know people are going to be upset, but I’m not really surprised that the Raptors would be interested in that Harrison Barnes and draft pick package for Pascal.
There are too many cooks in the kitchen right now. Scottie Barnes is capable of playing the OG role, but we’re building around him as per Masai. He can’t be relegated to the fourth or fifth option every night if your plan is to build around Scottie.
We need players who can impact winning without needing the basketball in their hands to be effective. Harrison Barnes fits that to a T.
We have our offence of the future locked with Scottie, RJ and Quick. We need to surround them with solid role players who impact winning imo. Guys who won’t demand the ball, will play defence and be a positive influence. Don’t be surprised if a pascal trade is the Rudy gay trade again where we get solid role players in return.

I smell sabotage in the air from at least 1 party. Not sure who that party is, though.

Barnes is older than Siakam, and the likely picks are down the road probably starting in '26... If we're trading our best or 2nd best player, we need to get current young asset(s) back in the deal. It's really more about BPA also, as opposed to current fit.

You have to actually watch the clip. This wording is from NBA central. Shams or any rumour monger isn't going to ever name the full amount of the package because names are involved. He said this was a package. Barnes is the biggest name. He also said the Raptors already had other offers on the table, and it was up to them to come back to the Kings.

Exactly what I was thinking as well.
Shams made it seem like we were close to getting a deal done "revolving around Harrison Barnes". Not sure if it was too save face OR.... if there's some shady sh*t going on behind closed doors. Siakam's camp up to no good again?

I think he is a great six man for now. Young can shoot handle super fast. If he matures he seems like the biggest break out potential player.
How come you don’t like him ?

I think he's too one dimensional, like a Trent (tunnel vision, undersized, cannot do much other than scoring), I know their games are very different though in terms of how they get their buckets. I see him as a high floor, low ceiling type of player. I'm not totally opposed to him (because of what else Indy can offer).

Keegan Murray also fits it to a T.

Gotta give to get and unfortunately Barnes at 31 years of age isn’t giving near enough

Barnes is on a reasonable contract and Siakam is only an expiring that a trading team could lose in the summer.

With that being said there’s no point in gifting Siakam to the Kings without draft compensation or a prospect. Better to try to extend Siakam

Yeah, I'm not sure why they've hung around as long as they have.

Kings: Hey, we want Siakam
Raps: No problem! Send over Murray and we got a deal
Kings: We don't want to move Murray
Raps: Well then I can't help you. Have a wonderful day

Should have taken less than a minute to sort this.

I don’t think Murray is truly off the table.

I don't even like Sacramento's trade package, even with Keegan. I like Indiana more I think. Huerter's cheeks and same with Davion. At least all of Indiana's young guys are somewhat productive.

The entire Sacramento leaks situation is very bizarre. They can't genuinely believe they can actually lowball Masai, every GM around the league knows this by now, so they should have pissed off by now if there was 0 structure to a trade between them, yet they are hanging around and leaks keep coming out.

If the Kings offered swaps and picks from 2025 through 2030, I would be happy to take Barnes for Pascal. I think Ainge wouldn't be able to resist owning the draft of the Kings for the rest of the decade. We could give him expirings, the Detroit 2nd, the Sac picks for Lauri. Sadly, they were probably offering a single 1st if that.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Masai will just give Siakam the max before he even considers taking a garbage package....it should be obvious by now. The one thing Masai doesn't like is being lowballed, he prefers to damage his reputation over accepting a lowball deal.

Even though Indiana hasn't been rumored to be out on Pascal now, I wonder what the actual offer is. They are the only one of the teams rumored to not come out and say none of their young guys are available

Barnes, Kevin huerter, Davion and picks is not a sexy trade, but I maintain we have our big 3 now. We need solid role players who understand who the top dawgs are and play their role on defence and offence. My opinion only but I’m saying I understand the front office’s pov if this is ultimately what happens.
