If the Mavs aren't including Derek Lively and Jaden Hardy...not interested. Josh Green is a really meh prospect.

This just feels like a continued campaign to smear any efforts to trade Siakam for good value. First the news comes out (from us) that there are as many as 10 suitors for Siakam, now Shams is saying after a couple weeks that basically, only about 3 teams remain interested. Soon it will be less, I suspect, or at least that's what will be reported.

My opinion only but I’m saying I understand the front office’s pov if this is ultimately what happens.
Why not just sign Siakam then? Kings cant trade a pick until i believe 2026. Barnes + Huerter will make 34.8 million in 2024/2025 and 36.9 million in 2025/2026.
I would MUCH rather max Siakam on a 5 year contract then take those 2 guys and some distant picks. Mitchell is nothing added to the deal. I think Siakams max would start at 45ish for 2024/2025 and 48.5ish for 2025/2026. So for an incremental 11 million wouldnt you rather have Siakam than Barnes + Heurter?
The only way Siakam goes to Sacramento is if Keegan Murray is coming back. I totally get if the Kings wont do that but there is no other trade that makes sense for what the Raptors want.
Murray + Heurter + Vezenkov for Siakam is the only deal i see that doesnt take a ton of rotational pieces away from the Kings where they can still have:
Fox/Mitchell
Durate/Monk
Barnes/SF
Siakam/Lyles
Sabonis/McGee

I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

Re: Pascal Siakam Trade Speculation Thread
Siakam for what would like be Barnes/Heurter/Mitchell is a weird package but isn't an offer really worthy of Siakam. I can see some merit after thought:
Harrison Barnes has always been a great fifth wheel on a championship level team. If you remember the Warriors he was on the line-up of death prior to Durant coming over. Then he went to Dallas and upped his usage (around 22%) and scoring for a few seasons. When he came to Sacramento he has steadily been given a strictly off ball role at 13% usage. He also has a history and has recently played as a small ball C. He worries me because Porter Jr. and Thad each played that role and were unreliable, but Barnes is younger or at least healthier than both.

At this point Grange would be doing us a huge favor if he **** off and stopped sabotaging the Raptors by publishing nonsense. He has no sources and isn't relevant. He can write an opinion piece once a trade is completed.

bunch of teams with zero leverage are pushing their narrative in the media that Siakam will just be a rental so they deserve to get him for peanuts. But we all know Siakam very likely re-signs with any team that trades for him.

Who cares about SAC & their sh*tty “assets”. They lowballed & can gtfo.
Feels like our FO is trying to wait out ATL to get Johnson but I really feel like they should pull the trigger on a Walker deal before even that is taken off the table when Pascal’s camp makes an inevitable leverage killing atomic bomb near the deadline.

Re: Pascal Siakam Trade Speculation Thread
I actually really like Davion Mitchell. He's a ball hawk, and IMO one of the better perimeter defending guards in the game.
He doesn't get a ton of minutes because he's playing behind Fox, I really like his game. I think he can become an elite role player in the NBA. He needs a change of scenery.
I'm also a Huerter fan, he's been off this season, but his body of work suggests that this is a slump rather than the normal. He's also only 25, and would instantly become the best shooter on our team.

He's gonna be playing behind Schroeder(Coach's son) and Quickley so it will be hard to even get minutes here unless we ship someone out...

I would think if we trade Siakam, DS would be on the way out. I think management has chosen a direction and they're prioritizing young guys who can grow together.

He's not even better than those guys and a low ceiling dude... He aint the guy in a package for Siakam.. lol
Indiana is the team we want to deal with.. They'll have the best talent that is actually attainable..

I’d rather let Siakam walk away for nothing and have about 35m in cap space than take Harrison Barnes back unless Keegan is included.
IQ’s cap hold will be pretty low.

Mitchell is a very meh nba'er, he's a 3rd string pg who can't shoot.

He's not as bad as his stats suggest. The only time he had a role/got consistent minutes was his rookie year and he averaged 12/2/4 in 28 MPG. In the final 11 games of the season where he started he averaged 19/3/9. Do I think he can be a star? Hell no, but I think he can develop into a very good role player if given a proper role/minutes. I don't think he should be the center of a Siakam deal either.
I also agree that Indiana has the best young guys. I'm really high on Nesmith, he's a very good 3+D player with room to grow. Mathurin would also be an amazing add.

There has to be more to that deal to get it to work financially, so that can’t be it alone. But if that were the foundation of a deal, I would have to think we would take that. Murray is a little streaky but he’s a perfect fit with what we already have in place and has star potential. He’s likely the holdup.

Does Grange have actual sources with other teams, or are they feeding him stuff to bring down Masai's asking price?
I find Grange to be clickbait at this point, he's wrong more than he's right, and writes/tweets a lot of hot takes to get picked up & referenced by US media just to get his name out there.
He's been doing the "sources close to those who know how Masai thinks" thing for a few years now, which has resulted in a more critical slant against the FO with some wild realgm-esque takes.
Oddshark came out 4 days ago with Dallas in the lead, followed by Memphis, followed by Atlanta/Indiana at +500, followed by Sacramento at +700 and the Warriors at like +1400. Here's what that tells me: the Raptors would like Atlanta/Indiana and Sacramento to include their best prospects and they haven't yet. Dallas and Memphis have the best proposals on the table. The Warriors aren't in the ballpark.
Masai will play this up until the Raptors rack up another losing streak and then do a call for a final offer. I'm gonna predict Memphis for role players and picks.
I'm curious, how would oddsmakers know more than reporters?
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Lively likely off the table. It's probably a package with Green/Omax filler and picks. I still think Indiana has the best deal in terms of prospects and "Now" players. Then it'd be Atlanta and Golden State, followed by Sac/Mavs.
