That ship was only there when the supermax was in play. Hence why his team put out he wants to stay in Toronto in the summer because we would be the only ones to be able to give him supermax as the team that drafted him. Now that any chance of that is gone its basically just an extra year and slightly higher raises. Definitely not enough to stay on a team that was shopping him the summer and this year. Only way he signs with us now is to get the extra year in a sign and trade. I doubt any team including Philly will want that 5th year when Siakam is turning 35 at the max. Hence it just makes sense for any team to wait for Siakam in the summer if they have cap space. Offer crap to Raps in a sign and trade and let Siakam know Raps didnt like their offer so just sign for the 4 year max. Only team that trades for him now are the ones that think a half a year of convincing him and the extra year might sway him to stay. This would be the case for teams like Indy, Sac, Dallas and any team with no capspace for him in the summer.

Indy is prolly out of Siakam race if Haliburton injury is significant

Diagnosed as a left hamstring strain... Hopefully just a grade 1.

I think it'll only be 4-6 week injury....if it was season-ending then I would agree they would be out of the Siakam conversation.

Fakenews.

Right, so Pascal will not re-sign with any team and retire from basketball. Please.

Or...securing the max possible contract...THEN demanding a trade with a list of teams he'd go to and handcuffing the team's ability to extract max value.

That’s quite presumptuous!

Expect us to believe Michael Grange of all people knows what's going on in Kuminga's head?

I'd rather keep Siakam than trade for these terrible "assets".

Keegan would be the only move I'd be interested in.

Yeah, so basically it looks like Siakam wants to end the season with the Raptors and then pick his destination.

My take is that the 5th year isn't as big as people here think it is. FVV, his buddy has already shown him the alternative way, which is to take a short term deal with more money and then go back into free agency quicker with a long term deal. These guys already make so much money and teams throw out big money even to injured players. The Raptors are not going to offer the max at 5 years anyway so it's not like they have any leverage.

I think he has a team he wants to join who he has already spoken to and has an agreement with and is simply trying to stay put with the Raptors until that happens in the off-season (Philly)? That's why Masai seems ready to take rotation players for him rather than the high upside young guys he usually looks for. I personally think Siakam is putting on a show for the media but behind the scenes is making it very difficult to trade him. From everything the Raptors have done, they don't want Siakam back either.

This is getting pretty desperate in terms of value. I would look for a defender, a scorer and a backup big and call it a day. The Kings offer comes somewhat close to that as Barnes can play the 4.

This has been the playbook for a lot of star players these last few seasons. Wouldn't surprise me at all if Pascal convinces management to give him all the money he can possibly get then quietly quit his way to a team of his choice. After all...this next contract is likely his last big pay day.

Hali injury gives the Pacers more reason to trade for Pascal - otherwise, they’ll lose a ton of ground in the standings.

Funny thing is that this will cause Indy to drop in standings, opening up an opportunity for Raps to sneak into playoffs. Knowing Masai hes now going to pivot to being a buyer and get us our next Thad lol.

This certainly does remind you that an injury can come along at anytime and ruin whatever trade plans may have been happening. It’s always a risk of the ‘waiting for the best offer’ approach. Thank goodness Hali should be OK.

Pretty much goes without saying that no one wants to see a serious injury to any player just for them as an individual, not even how it may impact our own franchise...

BUT lol of course this is our forum & discussing how things do impact our franchise and this is f*cking brutal!! I mean you'd have to pray that it amps up urgency for IND to get a deal done. I just don't see them giving up BOTH Mathurin & Walker and I would hope Masai doesn't try to push too hard that he just banks on their desperation. Because if they fall too far in his abscence, they'll likely really FEEL that gigantic sense of let down on the season & decide to wait until next year to re-examine the market at that time when they have a more positive outlook for the season.

I mean if it's season ending then RIP any Pacers' offer, so this board better pray for Hali's recovery too...

I'm just saying their appetite for this move should be at it's greatest within the next 2 weeks (assuming Hali can return withing a couple of months). If they slide too much, there's a bad chance they make an early bow out and now you're down to ATL and a bunch of teams with fairly low value 1sts that they'll package with a bunch of fillers for salary.

We all gotta hold our breathe now...I really hope we didn't miss out on our opportunity to get Jarace Walker.

Siakam is just doing what he can to control his destination. I don't blame him. Especially when he looks around and sees that Lowry and OG got moved to where they wanted to be, and FVV didn't get moved "out of respect for the player".

He should have been moved at the last deadline. More teams would have been willing to overlook his "I won't sign" stance because they would have had the benefit of 2 playoff runs, 1 training camp, and 1 full season to convince him.
