Better fit on current squad: Ewing or Clyde
Random as f thought experiment.
You get to pluck a prime Ewing or prime Clyde and put him on the squad. Who you picking?

Re: Better fit on current squad: Ewing or Clyde
There's a thread about this on the GB, I went with Clyde. Clyde & Jalen would be so awesome together.

Clyde has the ball handling, defense, scoring. He never had to work on three point range though.

Re: Better fit on current squad: Ewing or Clyde
Clyde's defense and creation next to JB would be insane. But man, prime Ewing down low with his rim protection and ability to stretch the floor... tough one!

Easily Ewing. We already got a PG so Walt wouldn't be the best fit anyway, plugging in Walt at SG isn't as seamless as just replacing Mitch/Hart with Ewing.

Randle

That lineup would be nasty.

100% Ewing. Thibs might make him an offensive rebounder and rim runner though

Ewing. Clyde missed all of the 3 pointers he has ever taken.

Re: Better fit on current squad: Ewing or Clyde
I'd go with Clyde because I worry about Brunson holding up and we have I-Hart and Mitch back next year. I also worry about Ewing's style of scoring slowing down or getting in the way of Randle. Both would demand the ball. If Ewing would be the player he was in college, and focus on defense, that might be different then I might pick him.
I think we need a guard more than a center, so Clyde is my pick.

Re: Better fit on current squad: Ewing or Clyde
Assuming both guys can adjust to the league, I’d probably go with Ewing. Centers who can shoot 3s, along with great rim protection, are unicorns, and I’m pretty sure Ewing could do that. Also who is gonna stop Ewing in this league? Open floor, smaller centers, more fouls being called?

I think the Knicks would be favorites to win if they had Ewing, and darkhorse contenders with Clyde.

This is Ewing easily who was always a better individual talent then Clyde. He just didn't have a title worthy team.

Ewing would be great. But the point about Walt as PG or SG doesn't matter. In his day those distinctions were less clear cut, you were just a guard. Walt was more a PG than Dick Barnett but with Earl they could both handle, create, and shoot. Both comfortable on ball or off ball. He'd play fine with Brunson.

Re: Better fit on current squad: Ewing or Clyde
Patrick would probably be a defensive nightmare if he played today. That top of the key jumper would be a steady 3 point shot now

The Two Guard Front.
I'd take Patrick but Clyde would be excellent.

Re: Better fit on current squad: Ewing or Clyde
Ewing is the answer here because he basically played for Thibs already and there would be no real adjustment. The only edge for Clyde is that he would allow others to play off of him. Ewing would 100% be more selfish.

Curious if you now added in Bernard King to the choices.
