Based in Callowhill on my end. Moved here for grad school during covid and couldn't afford to move back to NYC, but I think my wife is used to Philly now.

Oh wow! I’m looking at places as we speak. We’ll have to catch a game a pub or at arena. Are you off Girard or Frankfort Ave. My mom’s family grew around 2nd and Oxford. I spent 30 years there before coming back to Long Island for the last 9. I’ll be moving in somewhere by 3/1.

They’re building up that Frankford corridor from what I’ve read.

I’ve never been to the city at all so yeah I’ll check it out and Jim’s is pretty close to where I am. I’m staying at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco on independence mall E and chestnut and I’m actually going because I have an appointment at the Italian consulate on Chestnut St where I should be getting my dual citizenship recognized so it will be a time to celebrate hopefully. North Carolina is in the consular district of Philadelphia which is why I’m traveling there . Maybe I’ll run up those rocky steps before I go
Congrats on the dual citizenship. I’m thinking of doing the same for Albania where both sides of my family are from.

I've contemplated getting Italian citizenship as well - but the wait is quite long and it is no longer a ticket to live in the UK, which is where I would have preferred to escape to if you know who decided to become a dictator.

I’ve been working on it for 2.5 years and just now getting finished hope to be recognized next month. There’s a lot of cool places in the EU, the UK could rejoin again someday who knows. Anyway if you ever do it I’ll try to answer any question about it if I can

Re: OT: Knicks fans in Philadelphia?
did Denver , to the outter Denver suburbs of castle rock to all the way out toward Colorado Springs in manitou springs …I liked it but the air quality during the summer was a big problem …all the smoke from California was settling in Colorado for extended periods , literally 2 years ago the air quality for several weeks in the summer was worse than Mumbai …that and ski season shrinking every year, real estate prices going beserk , water supply drying up , it’s unsustainable over thereHarthorneWingo wrote:BigShot Barrett wrote:HarthorneWingo wrote:Oh wow! I think Jim’s on south st is temporarily closed from a fire…fyi. You’re not too far from Reading Terminal market either. Not sure they have the best cheesesteaks but a ton of other good food (dinics roast pork, Amish goods, etc)

Congrats on the dual citizenship. I’m thinking of doing the same for Albania where both sides of my family are from.
Just figured I’d update, I’ve been in Philly for the past few days, just had my citizenship appointment and my file was accepted so that’s good, expecting an email in the next couple weeks that will make it “official official”. Had a good time, saw the liberty bell and independence hall had some good food especially the stuff at the reading terminal market that place is full of great food. Pretty nice city was my first impression although I was there for business more so than leisure. 76ers fans were all over and they’re really upset about Embiid’s injury.
