PHI why: Gets us out of the tax this year and balances our roster, albeit at the cost of taking on long-term salary. Gives us a chance to win this season.

POR why: Clears long-term salary and gets assets. They probably waive Morris and let Harris play out the string, then can recoup more assets for him in an offseason sign and trade. Harris is a tank commander in the meantime, the role he was born for.

Who says no?

I would even be fine with adding another 2nd to this. The problem is Portland might want another 1st, and that just cannot happen.

No thank you from POR.

Are you Joe Cronin himself? GM of the Portland Trailblazers? Or are you just a random poster on a basketball forum?

Hawks: Tobias Harris + OKC 2026 1st round pick
- Its a downgrade from Siakam but atleast Tobi will re-sign, score and play defense while being able to hold unto DeAndre Hunter and other assets which they can use later on

Trae
DeAndre Hunter
Jalen Johnson
Tobias Harris

- Similar package from the RJ and IQ package. Two productive young players

Would much rather cut TOR out and take the Sacto package.

Sacto fans, for whatever it's worth, are on board with Tobias for Barnes and Huerter.

And if you could get that done, it seems to me you could add in GSW, send Barnes there, and take back Wiggins.

Wiggins and Huerter are a couple of worthy reclamation projects who have track records and meshing skill sets with the rest of the roster.

Not one to push for overpaying for Brandon Ingram, but I could see Morey wanting to "big fish hunt" for a 3 who complements Maxey. A trade that would work, salary wise, is:

Phi gets: Ingram, Hunter
ATL gets: Tobias + our stash of FRP
NOP gets: Melton, Murray, Korkmaz

Feels like NOP gets a bit shortchanged here but Murray works well with the construct of their team. Actually gives them a point guard who will defend 2s. Could help unlock Williamson to go to another level as the alpha scorer on the team. Melton also obviously provides them quality 3&D depth at the 2, something they're currently lacking.

ATL gets draft capital which might not be what they actually want, so it could make this whole trade moot. Tobi is obviously an expiring. I was trying to put more value towards ATL since they'd give up two starters, but it's hard to make the contracts work.

In the end, it would appear the trade benefits us the most, but I do think there could be something here to benefit each team moving forward. I don't think the Ingram/Williamson partnership makes much sense long term.

You'd trade 3 firsts for Brandon Ingram?

I personally would not. But Morey wants to finalize what this core is going to look like sooner rather than later. Ingram fits like a glove, offensively.

I'm probably just wrong for feeling this way, but I'd rather have Trey Murphy than Brandon Ingram on this team.

I feel like Herb Jones/Trey Murphy are the reasons Ingram could be attainable.

Agreed. But if I'm NO I'd much rather deal Ingram and keep Murphy.

Nah, I get it.

Murphy is a seamless offensive fit. He lives to finish assists. Very low maintenance, offensively. Just makes your stars better because he absolutely cannot be left alone beyond the three point line.

Brandon Ingram is a reluctant floor spacer and requires more offensive touches. Ball can get a little stuck between Maxey, Embiid, and Ingram.

I would rather have Murphy and Hawkins over Ingram. Give me two assist finishers that bomb away from three.

I don’t think the ball should get stuck with Maxey. Even Embiid would benefit from having the ball 5 secs of less.

Why are the Pelicans trading us good players for draft picks? They are playing very well

My trade specifically did not send picks to the Pelicans, but rather one of their most glaring and gaping holes at the moment, point guard.

Agree, it's either Zion or Ingram that gets moved eventually. Most likely Ingram because despite all his personal flaws, Zion is too much of a talent to give up on.
