Delmon Young finished 2nd in this years ROY voting.
To all the naysayers claiming Young was 5th, 6th, at best as a candidate didn't watch him enough.
Sometimes, there are just too many statistics that over analyze what's already been accomplished.
Well done Delmon.

I think he's going to be a .300/25/100/25 beast as soon as next year...
But there's no way he was the second best ROY candidate.
His counting stats were pretty good, but his rates weren't.
When your OPS+ isn't higher than Reggie Willits...

But really, I do think he's going to be a perennial All Star.
And if he were to read what I wrote above, he might tell me to...
...suck it.

I agree that Young may not have been the 2nd best candidate this year, but he certainly was better than the 9th or 10th best rookie .
162 games, 93 rbi's, .288 avg, around .350 risp.
16 OF assists.
To me, avg., rbi's, and risp are the telling stats.
The low rates were a problem, but this guy was steady AND clutch all year. He didn't accumulate his stats in a hot streak, but rather in a consistent steady way.
The rates will get better.
I agree that he'll likely become a 25-100-25 .300, guy.
