At a point you need to focus on moving ahead in the playoffs and Embiid is the best player. If anyone leads you to the championship is him, so you have to take care of his health now.

Agree, and actually I think this injury could be a blessing in disguise - once it becomes clear that the 65 game limit is unreachable, Embiid can leave the MVP battle and focus fully on load managing his way to the play offs… get there as fresh and healthy as possible, and go from there.

It’s also why I think ultimately SGA has a great chance of winning, because Jokic (and maybe Giannis) who are in win now mode, are likely to take their foot off the pedal in the last 10-15 games

As of Jan 10 my top 5 for MVP are:

1. Embiid
2. Jokic
3. Shai
4. Giannis
5. Luka

Jokic is starting to close the gap against Embiid, and they're facing each other in a few days which will be a very interesting matchup. Giannis and Luka are starting to lag behind the rest of the pack.

Unfortunately for Embiid he's on track not to be eligible for MVP, despite on a per game basis likely being the MVP. Given that, Shai should be MVP frontrunner now.

You either have high expectations for the Bucks or you just don't understand the Bucks have a top 3 seed.

Sorry but people claiming Griffin should be fired with a top 3 seed with a new roster makes no sense. This guy is a first year HC. He deserves to finish the season.

Maybe if the Bucks had a losing record you would have a point.

You don't have to apologise, you can have any kind of simplistic opinion you'd like.

Embiid's missing tonight's game against the Hawks which means he's only allowed to miss 8 more the rest of the way to be eligible. Something to keep an eye on considering the Sixers have 47 games left. It would be a shame to squander a season this great.

How great is his season outside of that 6 game stretch against the Wizards x2, Pistons x2, Hawks, and Hornets? I’m not trolling I’m honestly curious. And missing time should lessen a players MVP case even if he does barely make the 65 game threshold.

I’m with you. I’m confused on how great his season is wheb he’s finessed to the teams he’s wanted play and he’s missing the most games out of the candidates.

Embiid cops a lot of flak for his playing style but there’s no denying his importance to the Sixers as they’re barely a playin team without him

Another big game by Tatum while missing players. Some huge moments at the end of the game and took over in OT.

HA. But he isn't the baller who makes his team win. Nor Jokic tonight. GOAT.

Sixers are 2-7 without Embiid this season

8 of the 9 games Embiid has sat out were on the road and 6 of 9 were against above average teams. Of course the Sixers lose most of those games.

Embiid has missed too many games (9) in comparison to his competition (SGA 0, Jokic 1) to truly be the most valuable player in the league at this point. To have Embiid ahead right now, you'd have to basically discard minutes and games played and only focus on what he has done when he played. But that certainly doesn't give you an idea of the overall value a player has added to his team.

Alas I remember when being a volume scorer was fronded upon by RealGM- especially Kobe -

more love should be given to the scorer that’s 3rd in ppg but 14th in shot attempts -
