Yep, it will be a team nobody was mentioning.
I definitely believe this will be the case.
Our front office tends to be very tight lipped whenever it comes to making trades. Even the Knicks was a total shocker considering the current lawsuit going on.
Kevin Pritchard, like Danny Ainge are so leaky in which they use Woj as the middle man for trade negotiations.

Where would we even play Wiggins? We have RJ and Scottie, are we bringing him off the bench?

We have this leverage right now, where we are willing to trade Pascal, but only if you give up the good youngsters like Jonathan Kuminga and Keegan Murray. It's just a waiting game now to see who caves first, otherwise we'll probably just re-sign Pascal.
Who knows if we actually have this leverage though. What makes Siakam say screw it and I'll sign for slightly less with Philly where I'd actually be appreciated and have a better chance go win a title?
I guarantee you pascal will not end up philly.
This and I can almost guarantee if Raptors offers max contract for max years, he will sign it within the next hour. This year was always about if he can make all-NBA to sign a Supermax, also why he made statements to prevent himself from getting traded in the offseason. Obviously that's not going to happen anymore.

Philly has been prioritizing max cap space for over a year. Siakam is the only max player available this offseason and he has Rico Hynes/Nurse/Embiid connection there. Pretty hard to say that lol.
Even if that were true, the are other teams who can do it. Did anyone see Houston signing Fred? Getting full of yourself and playing a game of chicken where you can be left with nothing or much less than the guys true value will only make Masai look foolish.
Pascal will not leave max money on the table just to take a chance at Philly. Unless Masai is really that stupid. If Pascal would take less than max, Masai would've re-signed him immediately; if Masai offered him the max, Pascal would've re-signed immediately ; if someone is desperate enough to offer another Knicks' package, Masai would've traded Pascal. Both of the first 2 points can wait, so they're waiting for the trade deadline date to see what happens first, and Masai will most likely offer a max contract.

Maybe he just likes Toronto and if he's not staying here, he wants to pick where he'll spend the next 4/5 years of his life.

If GSW need to unload Wiggins and Indy is interested maybe a three way deal could work.

Toppin
Payton II
Kuminga or Podz
Pacers:
Wiggins
Warriors:
Siakam

Re: Pascal Siakam Trade Speculation Thread
Wiggins to Indy makes a ton of sense. Wiggins is an excellent buy low candidate especially if the think the can get him and assets for basically players that they don’t plan to keep.
Wiggins contract was great before his personal absence last year that seems to have derailed him mentally. Indy can save GS a ton of money and give them Brown and/or Hield.

When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

It's the first time he's going to be wooed as a free agent and wants to interview and feel the love. If Raptors were offering regular max extension he would've take it. Since Masai may be offering $45 million per year, he wants to "test" free agency but ultimately re-sign with the Raptors.

Agreed, instead of trading prospects or picks, just trade others.
Bruce Brown for Wiggins saves GS $2 million, with taxes over $5 million probably. Bruce Brown was able to act as a backup combo-guard while in Denver, which is useful with CP3 out for a while.

Toronto trades:
Pascal Siakam
Christian Koloko
Jalen McDaniels
Houston trades:
Victor Oladipo's expiring corpse
Reggie Bullock's expiring contract
Jock Landale (signed for 3 more years after this) - 8 mill/year roughly...
Jabari Smith Jr.
Cam Whitmore
Pascal reunites with his buddy. How can you not want to resign then? Koloko could be a backup to Sengun whenever he's healthy enough to get back on the court. McDaniels is filler.
Raptors immediately waive Oladipo and Bullock...and Landale is a serviceable backup center signed to a reasonable contract. Jabari can start at the 4 and finish games at the 5. He's got the length and ability space the floor. Cam Whitmore is making up for the Gradey Dick pick. We can all just pretend we took Cam with the 13th pick and Gradey with the 20th pick...and everything makes sense again.

Too bad BruceyB isn't the difference maker for GS. I like Buddy Hield's fit next to Steph and Klay. But is adding another shooter going to turn them back into a playoff team? I dunno.

Indy also has capspace so the can do a really fiancislly unbalanced trade too. But they will want an assets on top. It makes a ton of sense and I definitely don’t think it is posturing.

We CANNOT take the chance of letting Siakam get to free agency though... losing an asset like him for nothing could set the franchise back years. Imagine if we didn't make the OG trade and had nothing on that front?
Masai put himself in a tight spot but hit a home run with the OG move. We will see how the Siakam situation unfolds but he will need to do something similar here too. Again, losing him for nothing is not an option.

SF Klay - Moody - Podz
PF Draymond - Kuminga
C TJD - Looney

You are over-rating Pascal's impact now. He's actually slightly below average defensively. No longer getting a lot of rebounds and unable to keep his man in front of him on drives.
Really the player missed vs the Clippers was Poeltl, not Pascal.

Wiggins issue is mental and a change of scenery is a must. As much as people think Wiggins is trash remember us reading Bargs to NY

Yes, if you pay $10 for a $8 product and might decline to $6 in the 4th year, you still at least have $6. But if the $8 goes to another team, You're left with $0. Of course Pascal's situation is not ideal, but you just cannot lose him for $0

Re: Pascal Siakam Trade Speculation Thread
Wiggins issue is mental, and likely tied to his father. No change of scenery is going to fix that.
It sucks that it’s affecting his play so much, but it’s not unheard of, or even all that uncommon. He just happens to be in a high profile position, which if anything is probably making it worse.
Gah, I feel dirty just speculating about this stuff.
