Celts Get Royally Bucked! Loss vs MIL 1/11

Post#1 » by bisme37 » Fri Jan 12, 2024 2:54 am

Holy crap that was exceptionally unpleasant, you guys! We lost so bad they started showing a different game!

Bucks looked like a team that was well-rested and determined to play with great energy and get a win to shake off their recent woes.

Celtics looked like a team that played OT the night before... and forgot how to guard or shoot a basketball in the meantime. That was an absurd back-to-back vs the #1 team in the West and the #2 team in the East, but the C's just generally sucked tonight no matter how you want to slice it.

A really rough night but it's a long season, we're still up 3 games in the East and we'll get our chance for revenge. I'm going to do my best to forget this game ever happened.

Rockets Saturday, Go C's!

We're on to Cincinnati (aka Houston)

Tbh, I know the league would've been mad, but not one starter should've played tonight. Team clearly had zero in the tank

The Celtics were served a healthy dose of humility.

What a bloodbath.

This is one you just throw in the trash. Bucks desperately wanted this. Our guys had little left after last night. Nothing to learn here. Good decision by Joe to punt the second half. On we go.

I have a serious question to ask everyone on here except I few I won't even bother to reply back.

Do you really think Mazzulla is going to take us to win the NBA title?

In all seriousness. Let's discuss about it.

I don't think I've ever been so unbothered by a blowout loss. This game meant absolutely nothing for obvious reasons. The bucks did what they should have done. Nice going Silver. Wasting everyone's time with this nonsense scheduling.

Apparently that’s still Joe’s fault according to some “bright” individuals on this forum

Yes.

Cs #2 in offense and defense.

Even an ordinary Joe will be able to win multiple championships with this roster.

Joe did the right thing last night. Huge game for us. Really showed our mettle.

Guys in the league will tell you - losses like this you just shrug off. Losing last night in OT would have hurt a lot more.

Lmao the responses to this are going to be unhinged I can't wait

Reality: Joe's like the 15th or so best coach in the league. That's good enough to win a title if the team is in sync and if Tatum is borderline top 5 and Jaylen/KP top 25

I wonder how the bright ones would feel once the Cs win a chip with Joe as coach.

Could be very awkward celebrating with other Celtic fans.

I’m sure there’ll be plenty of posts about Joe this and that and the sky is falling.

My thoughts:
* While not a great effort by the starters, this loss means nothing in the scheme of things
* The coach can’t force effort and shots to go down
* The statement to bench the starters was a good one for several reasons. First that there are no excuses for the effort in the first half despite the big OT game on a B2B. Second to prevent injury to starters in a lost game. Third to get more time and intel on the bench before the deadline
* KP has less excuse than the others, but he’ll know that and has been great this season
* The bench winning the second half shows they are well coached given a large chunk of time was against the Bucks starters
* Not sure why people think Queta is all that, he has moments and gives energy but Kornet is still a fair bit better IMO

Burn the tape, move on.
