When will u stop with this Brook's def numbers look ok ... he is not the problem ? That's bs ... like does it require any skill to be 7 ft and stat pad blocks while parked in the paint ? woo woo 3 blocks per game ... he is great ? I remember John Henson did the same to look good on D. He was chasing blocks, while sacrificing rebounds. Tired of it, ship the Disney Giant to the Nets , he is their Franchise Scoring Leader ... let him retire there. After retirement surely retire his Bucks jersey, he was a legend here while it lasted ... he is now holding us back...

Wonder if we could grab Jose Alvarado and Naji Marshall from the Pelicans? Alvarado has fallen out of the rotation with Dyson stepping up and Naji is a solid, swiss army wing. Both on cheap deals

What struck me most about this was that they’re hearing murmurs about Griffin not being respected in the locker room.

Yeah it can be deduced based on Giannis’ shocking turn acting like Lebron calling out the coach. But god knows what’s being said off the record.

Celtics game doesn’t hurt Griffin’s chances of surviving the season but there’s no simple cure all players are upset.

There is no way the buffoons on this show have sources inside the Bucks.

Should explore possible Mids trades. He is not the player he use to be. Would be nice to get an up and coming young player and a nice vet.

The blowout win doesn't/shouldn't change much, but I also don't need a bunch of Boston sports clowns acting like insiders when they have no clue what they're talking about. Remember when Simmons around early January last year claimed with zero evidence that "the Bucks have some chemistry issues" and we proceeded to go like, 18-4 from then until the All-Star break? These guys are clueless morons, and insert "broken clock" proverbial expression.

I think this team isn’t far from being a legit championship contender. Defensively we just need some additional perimeter defenders. I’d look into trading for Delon Wright and either Dorian Finney-Smith or Royce O’Neale. Trading some combination of Portis, Connaughton, Beauchamp, RoLo, Payne, Green and Future 2nds.

Bucks In: O’Neale and Wright
Bucks Out: Connaughton, Beauchamp, RoLo, Payne, Green, 2 future 2nds

Nets Out: O’Neale
Nets In: Connaughton and Beauchamp

Wizards Out: Wright
Wizards In: Payne, RoLo, Green and 2 future 2nds

PG - Dane, Wright
SG - O’Neale, Beasley
SF - Middleton, AJJ
PF - Giannis, Crowder
C - Lopez, Portis

I just don't think a guy like Delon Wright provides enough offensive value to make the perimeter-defense-for-offense trade off worth it. DFS is still the most realistic best-case-scenario guy. Just a matter of how much Brooklyn would value a Bobby/Marjon package vs. a 1st round pick from some other playoff contender.

Bring Andre Iguodala out of retirement for the vet minimum

Bobby, Pat, Marjon, AJJ, Beas, and Portland 2nd are all players/pick teams would want. Shop any and all combos of those guys/pick for an upgrade. Not a trade guy so I don’t have any suggestions but I think that should be enough to get us the 5th starter we’re looking for.

I'd easily rather just get PJ back. I'm okay with a player being a douchebag and I'm okay with a player being washed, but not the combination.

1. With Bud, we primarily had GA at the rim. With Grief, we have him working as more of a blitzer/trapper/roamer. This is killing our defensive rebounding and allowing teams more o boards/easy shots at the rim.

2. While the Bucks still have Lopez primarily in the drop, they are still trying to use the remaining roster to trap and blitz teams. Partnow points out the obvious element that we don't have the roster for this especially at the guards. Bucks are last in the NBA in turnover percentage.

3. Bucks are simply not getting back on defense in transition. Last in opponent transition percentage. He believes this is more execution than scheme.

4. We allowed the 8th most drives/100 possessions in the halfcourt a year ago. This year we have allowed the most.

5. Scheme doesn't fit with personnel. Duh.

6. All of Lopez's individual defensive numbers are still great. He isn't the issue.

All in all, I think assuming we do not make a major personnel addition at the wing, we need to move GA back to being more of a rim protector/rebounder and live with the three ball. Dominating the paint is our identity with this team, and if teams want to get into a shootout with us, I feel we can win a lot of those. What we cannot do is allow teams to get easy paint points and dominate us on the glass while also getting a bunch of easy transition baskets. Essentially what I'm saying all revolves around going back to dominating the rim on D.

1 and 2 are so clearly not working, when we have evidence from the last few years of what does work, it's honestly shocking to me to watch an NBA staff so clearly force a square peg in to a round hole.

Especially #2, I can kinda understand experimenting with a freak athlete like Giannis but the rest of the roster clearly doesn't have the engines to chase and they are just absolutely hanging Brook out to dry.

I agree that its not working but part of the problem is likely that he was hired with a mandate to fix what was wrong with the Bud Bucks. I can't tell you how many posts I read over the last 5 years complaining about:

1) Not using Giannis as a roamer or on the other teams best wings
2) Giving up too many open threes

Now everyone's up in arms that AG is:

1) Using Giannis as a roamer or on the other teams best wings
2) Selling out to not give up threes

Obviously he needs to tweak things and find a happy medium.. but the answer isnt to just go full boar back to what Bud was doing and expect it to end differently than it did when he was here

After all the noise the last two weeks I think the problem was like 80% Dame just not being Dame. They certainly need to upgrade the defense but if Dame plays like Dame this is a championship caliber team. They are one defensive piece away from that being very obvious.

Right now my target list is: Caruso, Smart, Finney Smith, Dunn, and GPII. Any other obvious (and obtainable) targets?

Bucks in: Dunn, Thybulle
Jazz in: Payne, 2027 2nd
Blazers in: Pat, Marjon, 2024 2nd

Dame | Dunn
Thybulle | Beasley | Green
Middleton | AJJ | Thanasis
Giannis | Crowder | Livingston
Lopez | Portis | Lopez
Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

Not breaking up Brook for 4 guys who struggle that much to put a basketball through the hoop. Again, even if we need another wing defender or two, it can't be at the expense of knee-capping your offensive spacing around your top guys.

I like this trade a lot. We sacrifice very little in terms of immediate contention and land 2 defensive players that won’t kill the offense. Call me crazy, but if this trade were to happen and I’m the FO, I’m having a real heart to heart convo with Middleton about him becoming the 6th man. Center the offense around Dame and Giannis (obviously) and start Dunn and Thybulle together to counter the defense. Bring Beasley and Middleton in to dominant the offense for the 2nd unit with Portis and Crowder and I think you have a real championship recipe there.
