Wemby has been “struggling”, so here comes a late Christmas present for him. It is a battle of two teams circling the bowl. Which one gets flushed?
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

He got a triple double last game. I wonder what our record would be if we had Wemby.

These two Spurs games are two good shots at a win. Wemby is a freak, and will probably be a force of nature someday, but he's not contributing to winning basketball right now. I honestly don't think our record would be much better this year if we'd won the top pick, assuming all our guys still get hurt, but obviously in a few years it will be an entirely different story.

In addition to Wemby, Pop seems to be actively sabotaging the team in order to tank for the highest possible pick before the Wemby lift kicks in and makes that impossible in future years. I won't be surprised if we win this and the Spurs look awful, it seems to be San Antonio's plan for the season.

Losing out on Wemby doesn't hurt cause we all know he would have played only 15 games this year and ending up needing to retire before his rookie deal expires if he played for our mediacal staff.
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?

know the big news is Melo but I'm dreading Frank entering our rotation and further sinking our already hideous offense

I don't see a reason for Frank to play even if he is healthy. Sure, our defense sucks but our offense does too and Jr. and Bryce have played pretty decently. Especially Jr.

Would be the most Cliff move ever to bench our 1st round pick who is playing well for a minimum contract journeyman.

Like Bismack and Jason Maxiell or whoever it was.

So 2 more weeks of Melo listed as questionable then maybe he'll play by late jan?

100%, that could get ugly. Imagine him in the game with Ish or Bryce or Cody in the backcourt?

With LaMelo and Cody back the rotation should be LaMelo/Terry/Cody/NSJ

Are we still on "we rush guys back" or have we moved to the "never come back"?

When was the last time Miller dunked? Beginning of the year it seemed he was always good for one strong, take-it-to-the-hoop attempt a game. Of late, he's been finessing it more. Maybe the illness thing. I hope.

FWIW, we even had Cliff soured on the team's lack of intensity last game (in the presser).

miller has been quite one dimensional lately. i really thought he'd be a better rebounder. 4.1 per/36 is quite bad for a 6'9" forward. thars 9th on team if you remove baily, bouk and black. assists, steals, blocks all low per 36, dead last in vorp on team. ts% 10th on team, removing garbage time scrubs. ftr is awful.

he's been pedestrian to bad across the board outside of 3s and mid range. but few ankle sprains + being sick + being asked to guard top wings on defense + shifting between sg/sf + rookie wall (?)... lets hope he starts contributing a little more in the month or so.

I have noticed this as well. He almost never goes for a rebound unless the ball is coming straight to him. Hope this isn't a trend because right now he just looks like a streaky shooter.

We desperately need to find a HC. This team is depressing to watch.

I have no idea why they rushing LaMelo back the season is lost. Make sure that ankle is 100% healthy before he comes back.

100% - just feels like he's been trending toward disengaged (I agree he also seemed more active on the glass early in the year). Just hoping it's 'other stuff' and not our culture that's poisoning him.

It's definitely our culture. Kid went from playing on the #1 ranked team in the country to one of the worst franchises in the NBA. Also not playing with Melo also seems to have had an impact on his play. Maybe he gets back going with Melo coming back.

Have you guys seen our guard / playmaking (or lack thereof)? It's basically an extension of summer league where we put a bunch of wings or combo guards on the floor, poor center play and then expect our rookie to just come in and be an all star. He's not ready to take over games, but we've seen glimpses of it. He's learning the NBA, the dumb way games are called (or not called) and asked to do way more than he should be given the current environment. He's projecting to be a star and I think the biggest thing he needs to do in the off-season is add muscle and weight.

Why are you assuming they are rushing him or that the ankle is not 100% healthy? Or is this just what you would say regardless of the timeline?
