check Murray’s defense and his numbers again because he has been bad this year and probably had one good defensive season based on the trend.

Playing alongside a pylon in Trae will do that to your defensive metrics. I could see his defensive stats sky rocket in our system.

WE DONT NEED MURRAY.

Murray is terrible for this team.
IQ loses confidence as main PG and Murray plays with another undersize trae-like pg in IQ.
I'll cancel my sportsnet+ subscription if we do this. :banghead:

This is how I see it too. Then look to move Schroder next, and IQ/DJM can formally man the PG spot (with Barnes as secondary ballhander) for 48 mins.

Schroder will have appeal to a contender. With the Warriors current state, it's also possible that they'll do a massive deal with us for Siakam + Schroder both.

Something like:

Siakam + Schroder + Otto/Thad + JMcDaniels
for
Wiggins + CP3 (waived) + Kuminga + Moody + Podz/TJD + 1st

The Raps want young depth, and Warriors can provide a lot of it. We know that Wiggins is better than what he's shown this year, any noise around him being a bad player is a case of shortened attention spans.

Agreed but if we get 2 prospectsand 1-2 picks, I’m not sure if im losing sleep.

Like if we get TJD, Podz and a future future future 1st rounder, I think I can be persuaded to eat it. We would have zero need for anything until Wiggins expires anyhow.

Wiggins off the bench though. He bad
Not sure if it’s even financially possible.

Barnes would never touch the ball again if we got dejounte to play along with IQ.

We have IQ, we don't need to double up on skill sets.

The most useful thing Murray could bring is defense but he left that in San Antonio.

We need two-way wings with size and a stretch big.

defense has a lot to do with the schemes a team runs and the personnel. Like the Raptors, we went from elite defensively to mediocre with just a coaching change and essentially the same roster. Also has a lot to do with effort from players...Siakam looked terrible to start the season but recently after the trade his effort has noticeably changed

Yea, I don't like seeing Scottie in the OG role.

His DEPM has plummeted since the OG trade because he's a poor POA defender (his defensive metrics were poor in his first two seasons as well since Nurse also used him as a POA defender). I really don't get why we keep using him in this role. He had an elite defensive impact before the trade because he was being used as a help defender. I thought we'd finally realized how to use him (he's a Giannis on defence, not an OG), but no, we just reverted to what hasn't worked for 3 years now.

Yeah I'm really not a fan of how he's being used since the trade. It is what it is.

Siakam to OKC for Dort+Bertans+Dieng+1st would be good get since Dort can be POA defender we lost in OG. OKC has Wallace who can step in that role, playing well right now

this works in trade machine and I think it's THE ONE...

TOR
Siakam
Schroeder
(Det pick if needed)

IND
Brown
Mathurin
Walker
Toppin

if possible I'd extend it to include G. Dick and Nembard if they'd be willing

Both ATL and Kings are eliminated IMO since they are keeping Keegan, JJ (rightfully so)

Its going to be Indiana

They can certainly afford to give up some more first rounders if that's the package.

Warriors only want to trade for Siakam if they can offload Wiggins. Send him to a third team with their 2028 pick and bring back expiring salary and 2 of Podz, Moody, and/or Kuminga.

I would even consider that to be a piss poor return. We need to figure out how to get a stretch big. If we can raise the value of Kuminga and Moody then deal them for Sarr that would be optimal.

lol this is terrible. We’re giving the current 2 best player in the deal and maybe including a valuable pick too?

I don’t understand why you’d want to move a guy who’s arguably the best backup PG in the league (top 3-5 at least) just for the sake of it. Dennis could very easily be flipped for an FRP in the 20s

WE DONT NEED MURRAY.

Predicated on ATL being prepared to max out Pascal because he is going to take that 5th year and $50M+ no matter where he is.

TOR out: Siakam, GTJ, 2nd round pick
TOR in: Reaves, Bogdanovic, Okonguwa, Bufkin

ATL out: Murray, Bogdanovic, Okonguwa, Bufkin
ATL in: Siakam, GTJ, Hachimura, 1st round pick

LAL out: Reaves, Hachimura, 1st round pick
LAL in: Murray, 2nd round pick

I can’t seen Atlanta giving up that much just to get back Reaves and Siakim. I do think a 3 team deal can be reached though because I’m not sold on a Reaves/Trae backcourt

Return to Toronto Raptors
