This is probably the only trade package where I would be happy with a Pascal trade but I can't see a young Indy team making a shortsided trade without a 100% assurance Pascal is re-signing.

I would call the bluff on that "not re-signing with Indy". No way he would turn down extra $$$ and one more guaranteed year when he can sign the max with them, play for a couple of years and ask for a trade if he's still unhappy with the team.

Teams don't operate in a game of chicken, especially when they're not even in the championship window. Indy is just starting up.

My feeling is that IND really isn't that serious. I think they're trying the SAC approach of cobbling together a few contracts plus a pick or two without including any of their serious young talent.

I think teams like GS, DAL, maybe even OKC will press harder for him.

He's not getting 5 years. They spent half a year not speaking to him and promoting Scottie. They're not going to offer him 5 years.

Hearing the Siakam news is depressing mainly because I think we're going to get pennies on the dollar due to Masai throwing his own asset under the bus.

He shut me up with the OG trade but that worked because of OGs agent connection with the Knicks. This only works out well again if we get another connection like that.

If Siakam is looking for that 5th year, he has motivation to want to communicate with Masai on where he'd prefer to go. Siakam is obviously going to want the destination he gets traded to, to be one where they not only are willing him offer him a 5-year deal but also is a destination that works out for him personally. Cockblocking Masai forever actually hurts Siakam as well, in the end.

Feel how you want about Pascal as a Basketball player, but you just HAVE to respect this guy as a human. He's been a true professional throughout all the slander and trade talks. Plus all the stuff he does off the court for the youth in Toronto. I for one will miss having this guy on the team, even if its for the best.

Pacers wont want to touch a ton of their rotation and this is the lightest way to do it while giving the Raptors a piece they will value (Walker).

Smith & Hield slide into our rotation while Walker works his way into it as well.
