All these pieces on teams hitting the bench are 100% in trade conversations so to me it looks like we are getting to the wire. Teams have probably been given a deadline as to when Raps will decide so have your best foot forward.

If Siakam was making $20 million per year on a 4 year contract, Indiana doesn't make this trade.

My biggest worry is Siakam faking some injury so he doesn’t get traded or loses value in the market. Masai should be resting him every game.

There is the human element to this. Even if we want to resign him he may be pissed off we didn’t offer him an extension earlier and want out anyway. I think there is a 90% chance he’s traded. Why else didn’t we offer him an extension in the summer? We’ve been shopping him around this entire time which likely pisses him off.

We have just not won enough for him to be pissed off at this point: As a reminder, he is currently on a 'max deal' which he got off the winning/performing under the highest-level of pressure.
Had we gone through good playoff runs each of the last 2 seasons, that new max contract would have been offered and signed already; and he knows it

Unfortunately that’s not how the NBA works. Your pay level is determined by your seniority and individual stats. Even if we have another bad season he’ll still get the max (from us or another team).

You did see FVV get 45M, didn't you?
If the other teams want to give him the max under their context that is their business.
Had we won regularly( Semi-Finals, Conf Finals) then Pascal would have gotten that new max deal from Masai in the summer. "it is about winning"

Thats what we thought about Vince until he started nailing it in not dunking, giving opposing teams our plays in the middle of the court. Obviously i don’t think it gets to that with Pascal, but faking an injury where no one can confirm it won’t put any blame on him. Back spasms can be easily faked. If Masai has pissed Pascal and his agent off, i can definitely see him pulling something like this.
