I was at the clippers game and only he and RJ kept the team in the game until clippers hit those 3s in the fourth to take the lead for good. He and Barnes should sit down and learn to play with each other. They’ll win more games if they work off each other. IQ and RJ already have the chemistry and it shows in games.
Yep.
Scottie needs to set harder screens to free up IQ and IQ needs to be more bold and make the pass even if it’s a tight window and trust Scottie to catch it.
Barnes needs to stop slipping on screens. He was much better when he set hard screens. He can even pop to the 3 point line at times. We haven't really had him set hard screens since we got Poeltl. Right now he sets brush screens to get the switch but his team is terrible at getting the ball to him on the roll so it ends up with a nothing play. He's also too quick to slip.
There are two things this team really needs to work on - the initiators being better making quick passes off the pick and Barnes at setting screens to free up his shooters with the intention of there being multiple options.
On paper BBQ should work really well, they all can attack the basket, shoot the 3, and find the open teammates. It might need some time for Scottie to fit with IQ and RJ. Maybe it’s because of the road trip, but I think the coaching staff should design some sets for the trio.
