Better handle, better court awareness, doesn’t dribble with his head down, doesn’t pound the air out of the ball.You will never see Deuce dribble on a fast break, run into the paint then run to the 3 point line to throw up a terrible brick. It’s why he sucks so bad in the playoffs because he has no discipline and is reckless. Deuce played for Bob Huggins at WVU, he’s built for this.

Excellent post. The board has lost its way on IQ. He could add some stuff but right now he’s just a dribbling 2 with a nice jumper, and an over-dribbling one at that.

You’d think we are talking about some future Billups, but that is not my appraisal of the situation. Unless RJ turns out to be a plus, they made a crazy trade, let’s be honest.

He might be - but I don't think that explains the minutes. The minutes problem is caused by the overlap between Grimes and DDV / Hart, and the fact that Grimes has lost his confidence. It may take an offseason or a change of scenery for him to get it back.

It's too bad that we couldn't include Grimes instead of IQ in the OG deal, given the way that Hart and DDV make Grimes redundant, but management was apparently never on board with paying IQ the $27m a season he wants.

He started doing this last game. I mentioned it in the game thread. Walking around on defense again. Lollygagging around. He waited until the third quarter to break a sweat. He was 180° from the first 5 games this year. I noticed it tonight too a few times. WTF is up with him man? Trade rumors getting to him?

We just can't have PF playing like this.

Not making excuses but maybe we are confusing exhaustion with lack of effort. Because although Julius is in phenomenal shape he's logging a ton of minutes. Maybe this is how he catches a breather ...

I appreciate his demeanor. He sounds thoughtful, serious about his work and respectful of the game. That seems like the proper attitude for a good team culture.

Not sure why he had a rep as a troublemaker, but I liked how he speaks.

On that note, I just watched the Jazz post-game presser and I found Colin Sexton to be fairly articulate and thoughtful as well. I only knew him from the games so that was interesting as well.

I think the bad perception comes from being misunderstood. He spent some time in juvie as a youth cuz he came from a troubled family and environment.

He also chastised Paolo Banchero for being disrespectful to him when he used to be his mentor. Banchero got a big head so he checked him.

Lastly he is tough from a street background. So he doesn’t back down from anyone. That rubs some people the wrong way, those who prefer soft players. Murray tends to stand on business when anyone oversteps boundaries.

Well said. There's a clip where Harden tried to bully him and he just wasn't having that. He has my respect.

If he leans into defense again and buys into whatever role Thibs wants him to play, i think he fits well especially if he leads the 2nd unit while JB and Randle rest. It's just his fit with the first unit that makes me pause.

This was one of the top 3 worst games by the team all season, win or lose.

this team has been awful for 2 games in a row now and attempted to comeback twice and only could only do so yesterday because they were playing g-league level talent. and people here are talking about stats from this game. sad.
