Just **** do it.

Why are many assuming Rozier is cheap? The Hornets are not in any cap related problems to want to pay to shed salary

Yeah it makes no sense and only gives Micky savings from the tax this year while still being in the tax. Next year Rozier’s salary would be denting us near the 2nd apron again. Lowry for Tyus Jones is really what makes sense because Jones only makes 14 and probably not making much more than that on his extension.

So technically were actually over and in the Second Apron, however once certain things clear we would be only 2.3M under it. Disgusting.....why are we in this situation.... I know why, bad contacts to bad players.

Team needs to trade Lowry and pick to get a nominal reinforcement and find a team willing to eat salary in the process of the transaction. Wiz just ate 12.5 million of Bagley for 2 SRP’s.

Yeah but who in there right mind is going to eat a 10 million buyout for Duncan to go away. That’s admitting a huge mistake. He’ll get traded well before they use that bloated buy out

You know, some teams could use outside shooting and a bad team like Detroit could possibly be incentivized to switch out an older 3pt shooting PF making around 19 mil for a 30 year old Robinson on around the same contract, maybe you even expand the trade to get someone like Morris, Burks and/or Harris. Detroit has some players that could help Miami, maybe not starters but definitely options Spoelstra could go to.

Wiz have the ability to eat salary in any Lowry for Jones deal. They just saved another 3.5 million in the Pistons deal. Lowry for Jones and Wright or Shamet works. Draft compensation is what needs to be worked out.

Brutal injuries and even more brutal how we continue to operate with what is essentially a 13 man roster with Dru Smith out.

I think our FO unfortunately have gone passed the all in for Jimmy phase. He just doesn't have enough juice in him left for them to put their cards on the table for it anymore. Its a transition bridge to winning with the next crew, hoping to pull it off with what we got this year would be there hope but not an absolute. As a fan it sucks but that is what I feel like FO is in as headspace. They like their Bam, JJJ, Jovic, Herro core moving forward. with players like Duncan, JRich, Highsmith, Caleb filling in the rest.

If Steph, Giannis, Luka, or Tatum hypothetically became available, you don’t think Mia would be hitting the phones?

There’s more/less 10 or so players they’d still likely go “all in” on.

Thats different, every single team would jump on that if given an opening to for one of those franchise conerstones. Those are clearly game changers, but none of those guys are available. Those are outlier hypotheticals.

Were talking about middlin talent changes, a piece you usually trade that improves you slightly perhaps enough to get a one up on another contender, but it can't be tested/proved until the playoffs. Those trades I believe unless their clearing cap, and can also make it work, or perhaps just swap 2 talents without giving up assets or picks then they could.

Those types wouldn’t necessarily require an “all in” package.

Personally, I think that internally they are desperate for a ball handling guard and would absolutely pony up a reasonable offer if one that they liked becomes available.

This narrative of the spurs not wanting Murray I keep seeing is false by the way. They actually want him back

Sure sounds like Murray wants out of ATL at minimum.

Pop will probably do everything he can to keep him away from the Lakers. He’s so petty when it comes to them that either he’s going to make them seriously overpay or he’s just going to get him back himself.

LOL Miami was struggling to offer 2 FRP's for Lillard and Donovan let alone for Murray. If the price comes down to 1 FRP maybe to go for it, but that will limit their chances at going for Donovan or another max type guy later, so probably not a chance.

Price ain’t going down because you have like 5 teams in the race and if it did you think the Hawks are going to prefer that pick coming from the Heat who are notorious for rarely picking in the lottery? Probably not. They gave up 1 protected, 1 swap, and 2 unprotected first in original deal so of course they are looking to recoup at least 2 picks.

Murray could always be moved later and Mia likely wouldn’t lose out on more than what they would pay to get him, assuming he stays healthy.

Losing Mitchell but getting Murray Herro and a 1st in return isn’t the worst thing that could happen to the Cavs next year…..
