Normally, you don't pass up opportunities like getting a Kuminga to stock up for the future. But chemistry is a fragile thing. Him wanting a bigger role and more touches/scoring opportunities on a team that's already rolling could be more of a wrench we don't want to throw into our well-oiled machine. Or whatever the expression is.

Very sane take, actually. I would agree, but from what I'm seeing, the team could absorb a slight hit in chemistry, and the overall equation in the positive with an influx of talent.
Depends on Kuminga, I suppose. I don't know the guy's motives, but if were willing to come off the bench and play to his strengths and up to his ability, he can be a key reserve here and great chance of having some nice jewelry by June. The guy is still young and will get his day to shine and his payday too. Coming off the bench like a rabid defensive dog for a contender would certainly help his stock.
Now, you could say, "well, he had that chance in GS, didn't he?"
Well, sort of, yes, but maybe a change/trade will do him good -- it's up t him, and there is risk. The talent is sky high, I'd roll the dice.
But then again, there is a reason Brad Stevens is who he is, and I'm some dude playing hooky in Mexico.

He can get lots of minutes here, imo, with a massive opportunity next year forward.
If Horford or KP is out...he can be the 6th starter,
if Brown or Tatum sit...he can be the 5th starter.
If Jrue or White sit he can be the 5th starter
He can get close on 30 minutes per game here at the sf/pf

I bet Brad would prefer Moody over Kuminga. Just a hunch.

I would too.

I really like Moody, too, and he would be a more seamless fit here, from what I've seen.
Moody would be great as another defensive guard that can shoot, and could spell JB or White, come in and help slow down opponents at the perimeter.
Kuminga is just a beast. Ceiling higher than Moody, but seems like more baggage overall. He's a good compliment to the bench shooters we have, and gives us another guy that can get to the rim.
Moody a 2/3, Kuminga a 3/4. Brad says he's looking for a big wing. Brissett has been OK, but these guys are bona fide young talent.
Either of them fit into the TPE and if GS is making them available, it's worth pitching some picks. I'd be happy with either, but my guess is they will keep Kuminga. GS seems really high on Brandin Podziemski, so he may make Moody more expendable.

1) He's a good player. Can defend. And he's been at either 38% or 39% from 3 in each of his 3 yrs in the league. Which is why if the Knicks trade him, I think they only do it if they are moving him as part of some bigger trade package to go and get another star.
Like, there's rumblings that they're open to moving Randle. Perhaps they're looking to package up Randle + Grimes + picks for a star (Donovan Mitchell?)
I highly doubt they are gonna trade Grimes to the best team in the league (who's in the same conference as them) for just some picks/filler
2) While he's been a good shooter in the reg season, he only shot 24% from 3 in last year's playoffs so that's a bit of a red flag..

Donovan Mitchell? Why in the world would CLE do that trade?
