Embiid be lying. Just say you care about winning mvp again. He’s stayed in games just to get his rebounds or check himself back in a blowout for stats. His actions speak louder than his bs words. If you’re willing to risk injury or make an injury worse for stats then you’re a ME person.

"He didn't play in 9 4th quarters this season"
- Probably because by the time the 3rd quarter rolls around he's usually played 30-32 minutes already. It's a product of Nurse's rotations (as Sixers fans have pointed out in MVP thread 2):
- Full first quarter
- Half 2nd quarter
- Full 3rd quarter
Phrased another way, "In 9 games, he played 3 or 4 minutes less than his season average" - Guess that doesn't sound AS impressive, even though this is also the truth.
Are you trying to explain Embiid’s rotation to me considering I already know it? Thanks for informing me on nothing. He averages 34mpg so the already played 30 minutes argument is weak.
I'm educating other people who are seeing your posts without context and thinking:
"Oh, he did X in only 75% of his gametime!"
When the reality is:
"Oh he did X in 90% of his normal minutes played"
Both are impressive, and both are true. One SOUNDS way more impressive though which I'm sure is why you're using that language.

There is nothing wrong Embiid caring about the MVP title, he won it deservingly so… if Joker won it, it was deserving too…
I am intrigued by tonight’s match up, not only between these two MVPs, but also between two excellent coaches… I’d like to see how Nurse solves defending Joker and how Malone schemes against Joel… seriously, drop off narratives for a day, enjoy the match up

There’s nothing wrong with caring for MVP. He’s patronizing people with his comments that he doesn’t care. You’re not talking to little kids. Nobody is going to attack you for saying you want to win mvp when your actions already show it.
I will say Jokic does the same thing when we know he’s being bs too.

All of this pales in comparison to what the Sixers have had to go through since the start of "The Process". Hell, right before that they dealt with the Bynum fiasco, and prior to that Elton Brand was given the max and was a shell of his former all star self. Regardless of if the Sixers win a chip or not, there will probably be a 30 for 30 documentary about the dark cloud that hung over that franchise, much of which was out of the Sixers control, and a lot which was their own doing. The level of incompetency, pure bad luck, and randomness is basically unprecedented in NBA history.
I will say though that Tatum has shown up more, than not during the playoffs. His more recent playoffs though, he goes through big ruts, but again comes up big during the most important poinst (like against the sixers in the 4th quarter of game 6, and then the explosion in game 7).
Just full of excuses. If Tatum played like playoff Embiid he wouldn't have made the finals, wouldn't have beat the 76ers last year, would have been swept in '21, probably not even beat the Raptors in 2020. Your MVP probably could have replicated rookie Tatums playoff run.
Every player deals with adversity. Embiid has just failed to step up
Right I forgot he's supposed to step up with multiple broken faces, and torn knees. Lol ya'll like to just gloss over the most relevant ****. Call him out when he's 100% healthy, and I know no one is. But call him out when he doesn't have a major injury. Until then, people talking about playoff record need to realise there is a massive asterisk on the majority of his post season runs because of injuries that are far worse than anyone has ever listed on these threads. He might always be a what if, but to say stuff like he's failed to step up, when he is debilitated with injuries is so weak.
So which post season run was he healthy?

Well your initial post isn’t even true. You said by the end of the 3rd he usually plays 30-32 minutes which isn’t true. The 30 minutes is true but he is never over 30 minutes headed into the 4th so I’m not sure why you threw in “32 minutes” knowing it isn’t true. And it wouldn’t be 90% of his minutes played, 30 minutes equates to 88%. So to exclude 12% of game time is kinda ridiculous.

Embiid never once lied about padding stats. He actually has said on numerous accusations that padding stats is a good thing and it’s hard to argue that fact considering more stats looks better on a player. And for you to care about him padding his stats shows more about your character than his.

I predict Embiid finishes the season with at least 65 games played and comfortably wins MVP. I think him scoring more points than minutes and leading the league in scoring again while also having the highest PER of all time more than wraps it up for him especially if the Sixers keep winning at a 79% win rate when he plays.

Malone might be trolling the 76ers and Embiid with the Nuggets injury report for tonight's game. All 5 starters are questionable...
Harrison Wind: Updated Nuggets injury report: – Nikola Jokic (hip strain) questionable – Jamal Murray (bilateral tibia) questionable – Aaron Gordon (heel strain) questionable – Michael Porter Jr. (knee inflammation) questionable – Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (cervicothorqcic strain) questionable.

Is it not? He "is NEVER over 30 minutes headed into the 4th"
Do you know the definition of the word "NEVER", sir?
Let's just look at the last 5 games prior to his most recent injury:
Jan 5 vs. Knicks: 31 minutes played going into 4th quarter
Jan 2 vs. Chicago: 32 minutes played going into 4th quarter
Dec 22 vs. Toronto: 31 minutes played going into 4th quarter
Dec 20 vs. Minnesota: 32 minutes played going into 4th quarter
Dec 18 vs. Chicago: 32 minutes played going into 4th quarter
Now do you understand why I said 30-32? I did not say "32.", I said a range of 30-32 because his minutes played RANGE BETWEEN 30 AND 32. Do you understand the concept of a range?
Don't let facts get in the way of your narrative, I guess.

This is embarassing for the NBA. On one hand, Embiid mauls the Rockets to grab an offensive rebound...then attacks the rim to be met by a 240lb Sengun and as per usual he ends up flopping and flailing to the ground. He wouldn't survive a season if he received the Jokic special, i.e. being mauled with a 10% chance of drawing a foul.
Pathetic. Is this your MVP?

There was no foul on the play? I'm fine with flailing as long as they dont reward it. It will eventually go away if they stop.

Literally has a 95% chance of being called a foul for Embiid. A man who is 300lbs falling down like a little child at the slightest bit of contact.

The NBA and the refs are bad. It’s not an Embiid thing. The nba says they want to cut flopping down. They implement the flopping rule. Yet flopping is happening left and right and they don’t call it. Hell you’ll see a guy not flop and they’ll get called for a flop.

There was no foul called on the flop (thank goodness)...but Embiid also committed a foul as well, actually two...
5:51 on clock (I'll use jersey numbers): Embiid puts hand on #4, extends hand, pushing #4 into paint and #4 just continues going with the flow since he's been displaced.
This was the first foul on the play lol. You cannot, are not allowed to, put your hand on a defender's body, and then extend your hand pushing them away.
If he kept his arm bent, sure - but you're literally creating a foot of space, displacing a defender...cmon man.
Look at the BS they called on Jokic vs. the Pistons where he 'displaced a defender' with minimal contact...

Lol Kyrie never came to close to this type of dominance we are seeing from Embiid. Embiid in 9 road games this season has averaged 36ppg 11rpg 6.5apg. So he actually plays better on the road.
Here are the 9 games he’s played on the road this season:
Detroit
Charlotte
Washington
OKC
Brooklyn
Atlanta
Detroit
Toronto
Milwaukee
And against the only two playoff teams on this list he is 1-1 and shooting 43% from the field. So impressive!

LeBron pulled Dort to the ground yesterday to clear out space for someone to penetrate, and without the benefit of review, I was thinking:
"Is that a foul or a flop? It has to be one or the other. The guys were grappling and one got thrown to the ground. Which is it?"
The refs answer:
"Neither. It's two points for the Lakers."

Apparently nuggets are benching their starters. Sixers are better than nuggets this year. Maybe they are on cruise control during the regular season to ramp up for postseason but sixers are for sure alot better this year than last year.
