There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

I like it for the Sixers but I wonder if the Wizards can do better for Jones.

The sooner you all realize that we are not trading Tobias Harris, the quicker we can move on from the idea. I fully expect him to move on after this season, I think it's best for both sides. But right now, he is a big piece to this team, and he's definitely part of the picture for now. We aren't trading him.

Does Jones really help anything? Obviously he’s a much better offensive player than Pat Bev, but how many mins could you play Jones and Maxey together? Imo we already have the bench guard we need in Melton…just need a better guard to play with Maxey in the starting lineup. Obviously easier said than done tho…

Jones doesn't do anything that would offer the 76ers significant help in the playoffs. He's nothing but a high paid backup PG.
The 76ers need one more high level shot creater/maker and/or a guard who can actually give a credible defensive effort against D Lillard or J Holiday in the playoffs.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

You say that, and then here comes the LaVine deal.
Seriously, the fact that it can argued that Tobias is a big piece to this team is the second biggest problem here.
We can save the biggest problem for after the inevitable playoff flame out.

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread
This team needs scoring. Tobias needs to go and we need a more consistent scorer that can play well with Maxey and Embiid.
We have forwards. Oubre,House,Covington,Batum and Morris is fine.
We need another guard with size ...
Defense at guard is cool bout a dude like Lavine may just outscore his matchup to make up for it. Murray is a good balance of both and contract is more reasonable. Brogdan would be a nice pick up too and fits in without dramatic change to roster.
Tyus Jones and these other guards not named Dinwiddle are non factors like George hill was a few years ago.
I want Tobias outta here now. Or I'm hoping Embiid focuses on Individual accolades as my bright spot for the season. No way Tobias still here makes us a contender.

You're completely missing the point and it's getting tiresome trying to explain it over and over again.
There is no immediate trade to be made involving Tobias Harris that is currently available that will upgrade this roster. You seem to think that there is and that it should be done immediately, but you haven't named one realistic scenario with Tobias Harris for this mythical upgrade player that you speak of. It's as if you have Tobias Harris tourrettes syndrome where all you do is bang your fist and yell "trade Tobias!" If you're suggesting that it's an addition by subtraction scenario with Harris, well... You're flat out wrong. Are you implying that we'd be instantly better if we just flat out released him?
Nobody is suggesting that we should keep Tobias Harris for another five years OR that he makes us a better team. I think we're all in agreement that he should move on at seasons end. What you are doing is screaming for him to be traded and yet you offer zero realistic ways that can be done while also upgrading the roster at the same time. We get that you don't like him and that you want him gone. You've made that crystal clear. Maybe try backing your proclamation by creating some scenarios where it would work out for the better to again...Trade him now for an upgrade. Otherwise you're simply pounding your fist on the table and making a bunch of unnecessary noise.
Lastly, you are now suggesting that we trade for Zach Lavine. Your reasoning is that he "may possibly" outscore his opponent therefore justifying his horrific half assed efforts on the defensive end of the floor. Sorry, but I've never ever seen that work in all my years of watching basketball. In fact, if you could also provide an example as to when that did work with a team winning the whole thing, I'd love to hear it. No..Tobias Harris doesn't vault us into contention, but suggesting that Zach Lavine will is beyond stupid.

I don't understand the logic of this take. Best for both sides to move on this summer but integral now. Can you please explain. I don't watch the Sixers much.

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread
He's their third or fourth most important player, but other teams do not want to trade much for him since he is expiring and is not a star. You have other expiring, less useful players you might as well trade if for other teams would trade equal value since they just them all as expiring contracts.Spates wrote:ExplosionsInDaSky wrote:The sooner you all realize that we are not trading Tobias Harris, the quicker we can move on from the idea. Also, he will most likely get a better deal than the Sixers would offer in the offseason from a team like Detroit who want a veteran to help their young guys out and be a tank commander, but aren't willing to trade real assets for him. Sixers will be looking for a player/players that are better than Tobias or a better fit for less/equal money to what he'll command in the offseason.
I see a small chance he comes back if he really wants to at a team friendly deal, but doubt he would do that.

I think Buddy Hield and GTJ are equal value for Tobias Harris and the 25th-30th pick in the draft. I think it enables a more potent and resilient offense in the post season. The added spacing should theoretically make Joel's job easier by making the double less advantageous. Looking at EPM his defensive impact tends to plummet in the playoffs (I don't know the context). Maybe easing his offensive load will prop his defense.

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread
Firstly, Tobias makes twice as much as each of those players so you would need add player(s) making $20M to make a trade work.Spates wrote:zaz102 wrote:He's their third or fourth most important player, but other teams do not want to trade much for him since he is expiring and is not a star. Secondly, I think it's unlikely that those two teams do those deals. Indiana wants to keep the pick for another player and Tobias doesn't seem to match what Toronto is doing. Can always do a check on the trade board.
Thirdly, I think those moves don't help the Sixers. I think the downgrade from Tobias to Oubre/RoCo is greater than the upgrade from Melton to Hield/GTJ.

I'm not explaining this again. You yourself just said you don't watch the team all that much. As a matter of fact, I explained it in depth in the paragraph above where you quoted me. You either missed it...Or you're trolling.

You do understand that all you can put on the court are five guys right ?

Chill out. I quoted the entirety of your post, the one paragraph. There's only a couple post above the quote and none are yours... Regardless, someone else answered.

Reed is able to veto any trade for this year and he can’t be traded to Utah for a year since he signed an offer sheet the summer that we matched.
