for filler that's pretty good though.

it also leaves a huge hole at the 4, and doesn't give us a defender. There must be a subsequent trade or someone that fits roster needs.

The worry obviously is that Shams only knows about this because it's not happening loool

Shams does seem to be the pacers mouthpiece but what would their motivation be to leak this if they are in active discussions

sucks that Utah is doing good....they could've flipped those picks + and added some more assets on top for Markkanen

There doesnt need to be. This is a lost season. Get a bunch of picks, develop what you can and take it on the chin. Hopefully there is a backdoor tank where we keep our pick (maybe 20-30% chance at this point) but if we lose, so be it. FO fcked up, but there's at least some kind of direction now. Roster will likely be rebuilt in the summer

it's known that Raptors FO wants young players instead of picks....so this could be Pacers leaking the picks offer to put pressure on that front.

If they won't include one of their young players, these picks better not be heavily protected.

For sure Brown or Hield are being re-routed. I'm sure a contender would gladly take either one, and there is no commitment beyond this season.

Read on Twitter

Jalen Smith will be a Raptor, calling it now (Stretch 5, pending UFA who's going to decline their player option

Yeah because those draft picks are going to be awful i.e. one of them - if not 2(!) will be from this year's draft and said draft is being compared to the 2000 draft.

The Raptors and Pacers are actively engaged in trade talks centered around two-time All-Star forward Pascal Siakam that would send him to Indiana for a package that includes Bruce Brown Jr., other salaries and three first-round draft picks, league sources tell The Athletic.

The Raptors have been engaged in discussions with several teams on a potential Siakam deal, but conversations with the Pacers have gained steam in recent days, those sources say. Sources briefed on the talks between the two teams say that there have been several back-and-forth proposals made. While the two sides have been described as being far along in the process, according to those sources, they have yet to finalize or agree to a deal.

Back and forth proposals, lol

Pacers: Hield, Brown, FRP
Raptors: Hield, Nesmith, Mathurin

Pacers: Hield, Brown, 2 FRPs
Raptors: Hield, Nesmith, Walker

Pacers: Hield, Brown, 3 FRPs
Raptors: Hield, Nesmith, FRP?

Or that nobody is coughing up younger players. Which almost seems more likely.

You would think if its Brown though instead of Hield, that it almost has to include one of their younger players, doesn't it? If they are keeping Hield then I have to wonder if they are including either Nesmith, since he and Hield are so similar and Nwora. But it has to include one of 4 younger players too. Adding Toppin and Smith (and Brown) seems to defeat the purpose of being able to play bigger and play some, even some, defense.

I have a hard time believing they are including Brown instead of Buddy though. Maybe Raps insisted which is a bit weird?

funny seeing fans of other teams freaking out that Siakam is demanding 3 FRPs....did they already forget that OG was demanding 3 FRPs not too long ago......if anything Siakam's trade value should be higher not lower than OG's. People will bring up the rental narrative but we all know he's going to re-sign with the team that trades for him.

If we’re getting 3 picks, there’s no way we getting mathurin, walker, or nesmith

Pretty sure they signed him in order to make a deal like this, so yeah definitely could be Brown..

There had better be a good young player involved.

These picks project to be late 20’s ffs.

3 relatively **** picks. They can at least give us Walker. Pascal will be blocking him anyway.

Well this is interesting.

If this is a pick heavy trade the protection better be really good.

And we better get Smith back in the deal, he's the stretch big we need. Walker would be nice too.

I agree that nobody is offering promising young players at this point.....they've already seen how the Raptors stole IQ and RJ from the Knicks. When Masai is going after your young players it's in your best interest to make them untouchable.
