Embiid will be back to leading the race with this win assuming he doesnt keep missing games.

Will be interesting to see if he can meet the minimum.

Doesn't matter. Rings don't lie, nor does being the only MVP in league history to never make a Conference FInal.

Like Harden, Embiid is a regular-season performer who lives off the whistle. When he can't get the same calls in the postseason, he crumbles.

Just another coddled fraud until he proves otherwise.

I only turned on this game with 6 minutes left in the 4Q. When did Denver put Gordon on Embiid?

Jokic can’t guard Embiid actually nobody on the nuggets can guard Embiid. Embiid has been better than Jokic this entire game.

Embiid can't guard Jokic either.

Did you miss Jokic backing Embiid up like he's a small forward? Is that guarding him?

Did you miss him grabbing 12 offensive rebounds and dropping in buckets with Embiid "Rim protector" under the rim?

Are you just closing your eyes when Jokic has the ball? It seems like it...

Now of course we have to ask the question -- will Embiid play in Denver or will he duck again?

I’m just saying Embiid is balling...and of course Jokic is better - but tonight ?

Single regular season nights change nothing. Particularly for guys who care more about the regular season competing against guys who care more about the postseason.

Again...Jokic better but tonight Embiid was definitely a monster...and the best on earth - for the night

Embiid cannot guard Jokic. We know that, Doc knew that, Nurse knows that.

As I said, it's not about one night.

That's what Embiid and his stans want you to believe.

Not my jam.

Embiid didn’t win mvp because he outplayed Jokic last year lol. It’s one game.

Not sure about that.

He came into tonight 5th in the odds. This helps, but he's missed 10 games already and Jokic and SGA have missed 1.

Just because you don't miss 18 games doesn't mean missing games won't hurt you.

The "show up big on TV game" strategy is probably not enough for him. Especially after how last year turned out.

I can't say this enough, and I've watched the league for 40 years:

Embiid is a fraud. He intentionally sits out tough games, he tries to "play big" (for appearances' sake) in TV games, he sneak disses his competition and then pretends he didn't, he's a regular season performer who can't get it done in the postseason.

MJ would NEVER do the stuff Embiid does. Every night was game on and he played every game all out. No missing games out of fear or because you're not sure you'll get the hometown whistle.

Jordan was absolutely crushed by media and fans until he won a title in 1991. He had just won his 2nd MVP when he won his first title (1991).

No one expects Embiid to be Jordan, but the guy has major flaws and they have to be pointed out if you're going to keep it 100.

Also, the difference between the whistle Jokic gets and Embiid gets is huge.
Thank you Nico!

After tonight Embiid is still top 4 in the mvp race. He missed a lot of games is the negative compared to Giannis, SGA and Jokic.

Great game and fair play to Philly big win on the second night of a back to back. Embiid won the battle of the MVPs tonight (though both were great), hope we get a healthy Embiid for the post season, because this level of play is historic… equally, zero worries bout Jokic and Denver, they’ll win the west again I think

I am absolutely shocked.

Joel Embiid Quote: "Jokic is the best in the league."

I am even more shocked (pleasantly):

SEE YOU IN TWO WEEKS.

Wow. Respect gained. He's going to show up in Denver.

I would have thought the only reason Embiid was maybe not the front runner currently is because he may very well miss the games played cut off?

He’s been the best performer this season, nobody has questioned that.

If you were putting a bet on Embiid not missing another 7 games it would be very risky.

Oh it's let go.

Just gotta tell it like it is for the young folks.

Gotta know the truth from the old heads like me.

Embiid is Ewing, not Olajuwon. Or even Robinson.

At least for now.

Well and there's a good chance that someone like Jokic just outplays Embiid the second half of the season
