Re: **The Official Karl-Anthony Towns Thread: Part Two**
I’m not in favor of a Towns’ trade, but the other direction rather than divide him up is to try to get better. Kevin Durant is a true superstar, and has been pretty disappointed with the 19-18 Phoenix Suns. He’s injury prone, but few teams lately have won a ring without a Top 5 player, and we don’t have anyone in the Top 15. If KD asks out, he will look for a contender. PHX might want to bring in Booker’s pal Towns, so he doesn’t ask for a trade as well.

Suns just can't defend at all. When Booker and Beal didn't have a super nights, they struggles. Love the trade but how do we ensure it's not Butler 2.0? If the trade do happens, it give us a 3 year window starting this year. I will go for it, if KD stays which hasn't happened since GSW.

Towns is 8-14 on 3s in his last two games...step in the right direction in terms of volume and back over 40% on the season (.412)
Currently shooting .506/.412/.895

I know that we have upcoming cap "problems" but whenever I see a trade for a star, that team that trades the star inevitably gets worse. Therefore, I am against any KAT trades until he passes 32 years of age, then it would have to be a great trade to get me on board.

I mean I'm not opposed to certain trades, but they better be a step up.
If someone offered us Steph Curry and Markannen for KAT and McDaniels I'd take it in a heartbeat.
Even KAT wouldn't be too pissed about that I feel. Oh I got traded for Steph. Meh, reasonable, I'd do that too.

This team's offense would be so much better if KAT stops hesitating shooting open 3's...sometimes he tries to do too much instead of just shooting the open shot. Finch has said it better here -

On this list includes the foul the NBA rescinded the tech for the defensive player flopping, the Grimes running into Karl, and the double foul against Boston which was clearly a blocking foul. In other words, not all whistles are created equal.

Randle should foul out of every single game with 6 offensive fouls if he pushes off every game like the push offs he got away with playing against us.

Looks like he's in pretty good company with that list. On a serious note, it's going to be hard to get rid of the reputation he built up trying to get away with things. Poor technique and exaggerating things has hurt him more than helped. But for some reason he doesn't understand.
Stop hooking, flopping/flailing your limbs, falling to the ground, etc. Just be 7ft and learn to play with controlled force like earlier in the season when he was quiet and just performing.
PS: Tell Ant to quit saying "Hey!" and complaining too.

Who can we trade Kat for straight up right now while he has good value..?
Dude cannot help himself from being a hindrance to a championship team. Get rid of him while he's hot

1. I disagree with your premise.
2. I have no idea who would be a 1 for 1 trade target. We need a floor spacing PF who can play with Rudy, defend in space, score 20+ and not leave in the next 3 years. Sound like KAT to me.

I for one don't understand why KAT hesitates so much somtimes instead of shooting an open 3. He needs to do less pumpfakes...those pumpfakes and resultant drives are ugly to watch. I wish he can have Naz's trigger...the offense would become so much better

Finch presser tonight displayed a high level of frustration directed at Kat imo. Was laying into it hardcore. Freaking Kat is uncoachable. Get this guy out of ant's way asap.

I have had a love hate relationship with both KAT and Ant since they were drafted, but you sir aren’t just missing the boat tonight, you’re in the wrong ocean. Ant shot 3-11, 1-4 from 3 and had 9 points. Karl shot 21-35, 10-15 from 3 and scored 62 points. Your theory is what if Ant shoots 10 of those Karl shots we score more points? Karl is the more efficient scorer but already defers to Ant on most nights. BTW, Finch did what you suggested and benched KAT for 3 minutes in the fourth with Ant in there, it didn’t help. Ant is far from a finished product and pretending he is SGA doesn’t make him SGA.
Additionally, do you see KD saying god I wish I had less shooters around me so I can shoot more. How about any other major star. Of course not. KD went to Kyrie and said let’s go to Brooklyn. In Brooklyn they told ownership they wanted Hardin brought in. Don’t like that example, do you see Embiid or Maxey calling for the other to be traded? How about SGA saying we need less JW so I can shoot more? Lebron illegally recruited AD and wanted Westbrook believing they could carry the scoring load. That failed so he said bring me Dlo. That failed so he said bring me Murray or Lavine. The moral of the Lebron story, stars want teammates to help carry the scoring load and make things easier. One more example, Tatum and Brown got ownership to bring in KP and Jrue Holiday to make things easier for them.
Karl is not the problem, the offense is the problem. Nothing is easy because nothing is schemed. We have one PG who didn’t play and another who is a legit 3rd string and not really NBA caliber (but he has good nights where we can pretend he is.) This is not a winning formula and Finch is rapidly becoming the problem with his inability to find a solution.

You especially should love Ant's game tonight. 11 Assists and 1 Turnover.
