It's amazing how people on this forum doesn't understand how a guy like Pascal fits into current Pacers' roster and what they need and lack. Wow.

Who's betting these 1sts are super protected?

Why would you be trying to trade Mathurin?

Because he sucks. Empty calories inefficient scorer that does nothing else. Trade him now while now Still has perceived value

I’m not as high on Mathurin as other Pacers fans, but dude definitely doesn’t suck. He’s gotten a lot better with shot selection this year, and has improved as a passer and defender, also by all accounts he’s pretty much the hardest working guy in the locker room.

We’ll keep him and be happy to have him haha.

His fit concerns me.

There are a lot of elements that the Pacers lack and Siakam will definitely help in those areas.

That said, his lack of shooting is a real concern. The Pacers have one of the best offenses the league has ever seen, in part, because everyone on the floor is a threat to shoot the ball. Take that away and how much of the Pacers flow is disrupted?

This isn’t me knocking Siakam, who is a great player, would put up big stats, and help the Pacers in a lot of ways, moreso just wondering how his lack of a shot would potentially effect the Pacers offense and what they do.

If we can get Siakam while keeping Haliburton, Mathurin, Walker, Sheppard, Nesmith, Turner, Nembhard, and Jackson, then I’m all about it.

The two firsts this year mean nothing to me as they shouldn’t be very good picks and this draft class looks awful. Then one protected 1st in the future? That’s a fair trade off in hopes of getting a leg up on signing Siakam. Especially as I believe the Pacers would be able to offer the most money(though, that does concern me), and the Pacers locker room is super tight knit, and he may love playing with Haliburton.

I’m completely out on anything including Mathurin or Walker though. Honestly wouldn’t even wanna trade Nembhard, Jackson, or Sheppard for him, just because of the risk of him leaving. But bad picks? Sure, why not?

If I am the Raptors GM and you guys want my Siakam, all I want is Walker and Mathurin plus a 2nd round pick. Thats more than fair since they can keep all your 1st rounders.

If you are the Raptors GM and call the Pacers with that offer, you’d never be able to get them to pick up the phone for you again.

Holy crap that's moronic. Give up 2 lottery pick players that they are super high on. Instead of late 1st round picks. Lunacy

Anyway, Mathurin and Walker have aready been said by Pacers to be untouchable in any Pascal trade scenario.

Then they can forget about Pascal by trying to dump a player they overpaid just to hurt the Nuggets like they are laughing now Lol

Raptors do NOT care about picks, only young upside guys or they would have fleeced the Knicks of all their picks.

If it's the 2 '24 1sts plus another protected future 1st, its a no brainer for Indiana. Roster is crowded already. If its 4.5 years of Siakam, you trade Walker and upgrade elsewhere

…except, the Pacers aren’t trying to dump Brown. They simply need him to match salaries, which is part of why they gave him a larger, expiring contract in the first place.

You do realize he is expiring right? Not like he’s a bad contract.

And I have 25 other teams or so who also want my Siakam so like I am breaking a sweat. This is not the Beard that only the Clippers wanted, every contender wants Siakam.

If Lakers offer AR, Rui and Hood-Schino plus two low 2nd round picks, it be a done deal if they want Siakam which I think would he a game changer for them.

You absolutely do not have 25 other teams willing to offer you two top 10 picks for a player whose contract is about to expire and is actively telling teams he plans on testing FA.

That’s laughable.

Siakam is a streaky shooter, not a great defender for years and most of his points since Kawhi left where created on-ball - won't be bad in Indiana, but I don't think he'll make as big difference for Pacers as some believe, considering they already have ball-dominant offensive anchor and badly lack defensive quality. I don't think Pacers are in position to acquire better talent/those FRPs are that much worthy (I bet two of them will be from this year's draft) though, so it's not like they're giving a lot.

The question is if they gamble or have some knowledge about Siakam being willing to re-sign with them, that's the most important part.

You know, they could just tell the warriors what their current offer (or what they would like them to beleive) without going through the trouble of "leaking it" to a third party and presuming that the intended recipient might hear about it. Just saying.

If I am the Raptors GM, there would not be any contract issue cause I give him the max contract he wants. Game over for all you guys who wanted him! And OG will get his max from the Knicks too and not some low ball offer many thinks that whole dinner with Dolan was all about.

I fully understand, that because of his depleted value, Raptors fans would prefer to hold onto him, instead of trade for a lesser package. No issues with that view point at all.

But when people start claiming that teams should offer 2 top 10 picks for him…..oof.

There’s a team option on Brown’s contract (this has been mentioned multiple times in this thread) so he’s functionally an expiring contract… you know, the ideal salary filler in a trade like this?

The option makes it better than an expiring, since the team has total control. Let him expire if you want the cap room, or keep him and try to flip him next season for an asset. This idea that we’re trying to “dump our bad contract” or whatever doesn’t make any sense.

He just wants a max contract cause he NEVER got one before. It's every players dream to get one max in their career then he will settle for less for the one after that. It's human nature. He would get his max from me if I was GM.
