Caruso does seem to be the best point of attack defender available which is our biggest (on-court) need.

The Bulls dumping LaVine seems to be their biggest priority though. I could see Caruso being part of that kind of deal rather than Chicago focusing on getting a pick for him in a smaller move — which could help us in a multi-team trade in theory.

Does MIL have any interest in Brown in the rumored IND-TOR deal?

Alright, JRoy, how about this?

Mke: thybulle, Otto porter jr, Jaylin Williams
Tor: Bertans, ‘24 Portland 2nd
Por: ‘24 lac 1st, Thad young
Okc: Bobby, Pat

If you’d prefer a ‘25 first instead of the ‘24, I’m sure that would be fine. Also, marjon or expiring salary in Payne could also be made available by us.

Not really looking to move Thybulle as he provides a skill set we need. Do not want another FRP in 24 as we already have a high lotto pick and a probable low lotto pick as well as 2 SRP. Am a Thybulle fanboy so would require an overpay.

Thybulle has veto power over a trade this year and a trade kicker so he has the ability to decide where he wants to go. He has the same agent as Dame and GPII. Portlands biggest motivation to move Thybulle would be to be done with Goodwin. If Portland waits until next year to trade Thybulle they may get less in return as he has a PO the following year so his contract has its most value right now. Dame and Thybulle are have a long relationship together. Lots of other factors at play on this particular one in the Bucks favor. I am not saying it will happen, just pointing out that a Thybulle trade may be a unique situation.
Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

Goodwin really showed his ass with both GP2 and Lillard.

Fischer reporting Clippers are looking to trade PJ to the Wiz who would then buy him out. Mentions us and the Suns as candidates to sign him.

It's one thing to trade assets for him/his current contract. It's another to get him for free on the buyout market.

PJ's value is not limited to on-court value, and getting him on a buyout to be a locker room/culture guy + pseudo assistant coach who bullies Griffin into doing less stupid stuff on defense actually might help. It'd certainly help more than anything Rolo gives us.

Can the Bucks sign buyout guys? I thought a new rule regarding the 2nd apron means no.

I’d guess he’d go to Phoenix. I’m sure he loves Milwaukee and would be happy to be back, but Jae would be directly in his path to playing time, and he probably wouldn’t have the same issues in Phoenix.

As long as their contract before being bought out is below... $12.4 million, I think? P.J.'s, incidentally, is $11 million.

Yeah, CBA makes a distinction that a "buyout player" is one whose salary is higher than the non-taxpayer midlevel exception, which is around that $12.4 million number.

PJ does not like the cold. He also does not like being glued to the bench.

How the opportunity for clock would shake out btw Phoenix and Milwaukee is my biggest question.

I also wonder if the Bucks were to trade Bobby how Tucker would be as a small ball center -- which (historically at least) was a distinction btw him and Crowder.

If Connaughton were to get traded there'd be more competition for those minutes. Tucker's ability to keep up with quicker 3's much less 2's is more questionable now too.

And even if no one gets traded PJ certainly could think he'll beat the other guys out and earn plenty of minutes either way.

I think if PJ really hated the cold he wouldn't have bolted Miami for Philly, and now wanting out of LA. Dude just wants to play and it's gonna depend on whether he views us or Phoenix as a better avenue to seeing minutes.

PJ is a poor man's Crowder. No use for him here.

We saw something similar with Jae last year, and I think when Horst zeroes in on a guy he can pursue them a bit myopically.

With that said, he’d be great here.

Sounds like the Bulls want a player for him, not picks. Bulls have lots of guards, but are thin at the forward spots, and could use an athletic center. Who could we get for a bunch of 2nds that we could reroute to the Bulls for Caruso?

Come back home PJ. There is room on your hand for another ring.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
