In its current iteration, it looks like it would be a 3-for-1 deal; Brown, Nwora, Toppin or Smith, picks, for Pascal Siakam.
If this occurs, it would leave the Pacers with a roster spot or two to spare on signing some vet off the waiver wire / buyout market, right? Maybe that just means promoting Tshiebwe to the roster full time, but I don't have much faith in that panning out.
Are there any interesting targets out there? I'm thinking of guys like George Hill, but maybe for the forward positions. Who is out there, or might be available after getting bought out?
What has TJ Warren been up to? Where's JaMychal Green? Juancho Hernangomez?

God no!
I think we have our vets. Siakam has been around for 8 years, about the same as Turner and TJM. Hield is another vet. Depending on your definition of a vet, we already have maybe four of them, albeit none of them "grizzled, old fart vets".

Nevermind, looks like we only gave up Brown & Nwora, so not as much opening/need as I thought.

A bunch of posts, and a comment from the FO that they intend to resign James Johnson,. if he clears waivers.

Still an open spot.
Brown and Nwora out Johnson in leaves 1 roster spot. Maybe flexibility if they move Hield to bring back 2 players ?

Pacers are now in a position to bring in a buyout candidate who won’t disrupt the culture yet could help finish out the playoff run.
This could work or another quality buyout candidate if they become available.

Or they could still deal Buddy Hield. He's has one leg out it seems the whole season. It'd be shocking at this point if he remained after the trade deadline, no?

Hornets fan here.
Good luck getting him to stay on the court. I think Hayward has seen his best days sadly. Dude just can't stay healthy.

that would be an amazing pick up... savvy veteran, Indiana legend... for cheap after a buy out? I'd be massively stoked

Yeah hard to figure out if the Pacers will want to use him to gain new draft capital, ride his 3 point ability to the end of the season, or get involved in another trade that could benefit both teams involved.

We can keep him on ice, play him 10-15 minutes per game, let him rest lots of games... we have the depth. Then try to ramp him up for playoffs if need be. It would be totally free; if he doesn't pan out we didn't give anything up for him, and we've got plenty of depth
