I read on the Athletic in the Grade the Trade article that we also get NO 2nd in the Kira deal?
That pick goes to IND actually. Not sure why we didn't just get it too, but whatever. NO basically paid IND a 2nd to get off Kira and get under the tax.

Re: Draft Pick Situation
-2024 IND first, protected 1-3
-2024 OKC first (worst of HOU/UTAH/OKC/LAC)
-2026 IND first, protected 1-4
(2026 rolls to 2027 protected 1-4 if it doesn’t convey then would become 2nds if it still doesn’t)

Raps jumped from 7 to 4 in ‘21 draft

The duality of man.
My guess is that we want to convey the pick this year, but with Siakam and OG gone it will be tight. Memphis should drop off, but so should we.
My over/under for our record is 8.5. The 5 horrible teams, Memphis makes 6 and then I think someone like Atlanta or Chicago will make a trade or 2 and tank and there's probably an injury out there for a key player on a meh team like Curry, LeBron or AD. So if one of those happens we're 8th worst, and if 2 occur we're 9th worst.
There's also the chance we just finish the season like 35-47 (20-22 record from today on). We wouldn't be the first team to make a trade that hurts us talent-wise but gives us less redundancy players (we had 2 PFs) and stay the same, and we've been a little unlucky to not be closer to .500 with our horrific FT shooting and teams somehow hitting 38.8% of their 3s against us.
Our team probably makes more sense now fit-wise once Poeltl is back, because Bruce Brown is the sort of guy who fits well around higher usage players. Barnes, Quickley and Barrett are the 3 main scorers and Brown and Poeltl know how to play in complimentary roles. So the team could be very different by the deadline, but this team actually makes some sense:
Poeltl 27 - Jontay 15 - Boucher 6
Barnes 34 - Boucher 14
Barrett 32 - Brown 16
Brown 14 - Trent 25 - Quickley 9
Quickley 24 -Schroeder 24
apart from the lack of size at backup center and you'd probably want a frontcourt backup with some sort of offensive game to give us some sort of frontcourt scoring when Scottie sits. Barrett probably going back to a 25% usage also seems like a bad idea considering he's done well here around 22%.
Where's the D?
