If the 2024 pick doesn't convey, does it move to 2025?

Good question. I don’t know. I’ll check.

He should be. He wants to win, and with Hali he has a great guard to work with. Great trade for Indy. Will be missed on the Raptors.

We can extend him before free agency, but he’d be limited to only a 2/$81m type extension at most. He’s not going to consider it at all.

Congrats Pacers fans!

Masai got absolutely bent over & has completely f'd our franchise smdh...we got pretty worthless picks, you kept all your best young players & we just ensured that you'll be better than us for the entire time we'll have Scottie. One of THE dumbest trades I've seen on our part but if I'm you guys I'd be SUPER excited about the future...Hali, Ben, Jarace, Siakam, Turner -- that will be a top 3 team in the league in probably a couple years from now and has the potential to beat the current top 3 in the East a series right now.

We got completely schooled. I'm legit jealous of your team right now....enjoy!

If you resign him, It seems like a fair price. Not 100% sure of the cap and max contract implications, but loosely speaking, looks like a good move and the playoffs will be interesting this year.

My humble opinion, I think you challenge Boston for 2nd. I still rank Milwaukee as #1, though Miami was a sleeper who did well last year. I'd put my Knicks maybe 5th if they get Mitch back, but will be interesting to see what happens.

From Larry Coons Guide:
Conversely, a team cannot extend a player it receives in trade for six months, if the extension exceeds the limits of an extend-and-trade.

So,... 3 seasons, including this one. No more than a 20% raise on his existing contract. No more than 5% raise. with the cap projected at 142,000,000, his max contract would be 30% or 42,600,000. That's less than the 20%. If he makes an all star team, he qualifies for 35% of the cap which would be more than 20%,.. so the second set of numbers below is at 20%.

So, he can be extended. Max of 2 additional years. if he doesn't make an all star team, first year = 42,600,000, second year = 44,730,000, Total = 87,330,000. It's an offer he's already turned down. If he makes an all star team first year = 45,472,090, second year = 47,745,695, Total = 93,217,785

If he waits until FA, he can get more years, and up to 8% raises.

Both fanbases expressed initial disappointment in the trade / return from what I read, though Toronto fans realized that an expiring deal limited his value.

They can only get a 5% increase over the last year of their contract this year. Starting in 2025, it will allow a 20% increase.

I think Indy hit an absolute home run. 3 1sts sounds like a lot, but there’s bottom end protection, and Indyngot a decent enough 2nd in this years draft that they’re not trading out completely.

Does anyone think he's worth that much? Am I smoking something to think that 5years for $150-165mill is the sweet spot for his skills?

Very nice segment, its cool to see the Pacers dominate the national media again.

But, Ausin Rivers seems out of place on that studio. I don't even think the Knicks are better then the Pacers if both teams are healthy and thats pre-Siakam trade.

And Wilbon, who i love, says Siakam gives Pacers a defender because they have none right now. That's not fair. Aaron Nesmith is a hell of a good defender. Nembhard isn't bad either. Hopefully Wilbon will watch the Pacers more often now that they have Siakam.

Raps fan here. I think Indiana won this trade and I wish you all the best with integrating Siakim into your team and re-signing him. I don't think our team had much of a choice, and he should probably have been traded last season.

Anyway, I will definitely cheer your team on and hope you make a lot of noise in the playoffs.

Team just tossed 3 #1 picks in the trash! This player will never be resigned and the Pacers will not win the NBA title. This is a sad desperation move by a team front office that is in over it's head.

May as well write off the next 5 seasons.
