40 mil in cap space. 4 roster players and 3 firsts. Well done Masai.

Time to move on from Yak and Dennis as well. Go full rebuild. Give Porter 30mpg and see what he does, let Gradey play and keep our pick. Trade the expiring's for bad contracts/picks.

Not much of a FA landscape. Other than Claxton, there is no one I think would come here without asking for a big contract.

I think Masai got 3 picks because he's looking to move expirings and picks for another starter level player. We still have a huge gap in the starting lineup and Brown isn't going to be a core piece

Could be smaller pieces. And agreed that there should be more to come. I disagree on Brown if only because I can see him being moved next year instead.

Pretty barren looking team. Trade some current guys for picks and take on some bad contracts for more picks.

If we renounce our FAs and don't tender a QO to Lewis, we could go big game hunting and sign that all-NBA free agent in Indiana!

It looks like Barnes, Barrett, and Quickley is the core going forward. Poeltl and Bruce Brown are useful veterans who fit with the core, and would be good to keep unless they get a very good trade offer. The rest of the roster is a work in progress, it wouldn't surprise me if almost everyone else is either traded or allowed to walk in free agency within the next two years. The salary picture going forward provides a lot of flexibility, but there's also a lot of uncertainty. Masai and Bobby are going to need to be very active over the next little while.

Think there's a rule against signing them directly as I think you have to wait a full calendar year, but maybe via sign and trade it could be done?

Not suggesting it will be done, was just wondering on what the rules are.

The OG offseason play is an interesting one and something only the FO would know the chances on based on their discussions. We know the FO loves him and who knows how he'll like his fit in NY after a playoff run.

If we do actually keep cap space open post deadline (the FO has consistently pushed against this since losing out on Giannis), there should be some definite side eyes going on.

Is Brown at $23M a good deal next year? or is it better to just trade now.

Brown , shroeder, GTJ, Poetl, Boucher All need to be shipped away for picks.

Securing our top 6 pick this year is vital.

Brown's contract, like Fred's in Houston, was designed to be useful as a cap eating contract that functions well for trades or to clear room if needed because it ends early. Brown's option allows maximum flexibility so it can be just as a good this year or next, all depending on the needs of the team trading for him (if they want the space or the bird rights).

He's a role player so his market isn't changing much regardless. It's just as useful for us this offseason if we want to gauge the market before clearing cap.

I can’t remember a player ever being traded and then immediately resigning with the team that traded him. He already has an agreement in place with the Knicks, otherwise they wouldn’t have made the trade.

Not sure what the rules on this are either. Consider me curious.

3 years tops.

We moved back to probably better then where the Blazers and Hornets are.

If they can add another young asset..think the team could look at the playoffs again in 2 years

Yak and Dennis for.....what? Just let em go for 2nd rounders and way worse players on worse contracts? There's nothing wrong with playing em. Hell, right now, we likely have a way better shot at the playoffs now than December.

Well, play in, still, the Heat just last year went through the playing and MADE THE FINALS.

I think being open to trades is enough, buy really no incentive to tank until next year.
