Exactly. That defensive possession from him was terrible.

It makes no sense for them

I mean they'd also be doing it for a 2023 lottery pick and two future unprotected picks.

I'm not sure the Hawks with a 17-23 record should necessarily be looking for win now pieces, even if they owe future 1sts to San Antonio.

Eh Fultz did a lot of garbage things tonight but that was okay defense. If he anticipated him jumping he could have easily fouled him so most late game defenses are like that unless the guy double pumps and gets blocked.

Speaking of fouls, the two stupid fouls from Chuma and Suggs were way worse.

I really dont' see it bro. He was in front of him. A bit delayed but if we're expecting Fultz to specifically time that, I think that's expecting a lot out of a defender in that situation. The fouls were way worse.

If you look at their salaries they have a bunch of long term guarantees. They have little flexibility and have more to lose by offing an all star guard for nothing just for a little cap room when they aren't exactly a fa destination.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

The Magic could take Hunter or Capela too if the Hawks truly want to maximize their savings.

Murray probably sees the Magic as an opportunity to run the point again.

The moves would put everyone in their ideal roles.

So then is Goga the center of the future.. that would be the next question?

Trade WCJ for another shooter.. someone like Eric Gordon would be nice for the bench and for vet leadership.

Murray/Cole
Suggs/Gordon
Wagner/Joe
Banchero/Isaac
Goga/Moe

Does that solidify playoffs?

That's really the value. Get into the lotto this year, and try to flip the lotto pick and our picks for more win now players... or.... trade Trae too and tear it all down... which is what I would do.

I can't think of many reasonable ways to build a championship team around Trae at this point with where they're at. Trae is now making tons of money and they're too good to tank their way to top lotto talent.

I disagree, he let him get to his spot and having your arms down by your side like he did makes a pullup jumper too damn easy to do, which it was

Those 2 fouls were dumb too

The team absolutely NEEDS to make the playoffs this year. They'll make a move so that it happens guaranteed.

It would've been nice if Suggs could guard him that last position, I guess the "hands high" Mose thing didn't apply there  .. but I still say it was a tough shot regardless. But he's hit three of those now.. that's why it's annoying. Make someone else beat us.

Sure and Black never once made a mistake on defense this ENTIRE year

I certainly wouldn't trade WCJ for Gordon. Trading a 25 year old for a 35 year old is unacceptable

I would need to watch that last possession just to be clear but I didn't like that he allowed Murray to get into his sweet spot for that mid range jumper. Also think he could've applied more ball pressure after that 3 from Paolo to run down the clock some more.

It is what it is though.

Yeah I mean Suggs was on Young and he denied him the ball.

Fultz and WCJ appear to be gone and they look like they know it. Fultz playing like a maniac.. shot looking worse. WCJ looking passive aggressive.. always smiling acting aloof. They goneeee.

Very likely that there's a better package out there for them.

Trae is a weird player to build around, they have tried alot of things over the years to make it work

Return to Orlando Magic
