Grief needing coaching and the team needing a leader defensively definitely comes into the equation.

had to make my yearly local media **** post. Got my 15 mins of Bill Michaels done for 2024. he was talking about the bucks and how they miraculously turned around the season the past 3 games (they played bad for 3 games, teams play bad in stretches, dame was out on personal leave too. the season was not cratering after the december they had). He then makes a point to say that over the past 3 games the offense is scoring over 130 a game and wondered how over the past three games the offense could be this good?

Did that piece of sh t not watch all of december when the bucks were setting historically great offensive numbers?

I hate railing on the media because it's pointless, but he's considered a big dog in WI sports media and he doesn't even watch the games. Jesus Christ.

If nothing else, PJ would raise the defensive expectation level even from the bench and give us that championship feeling. The 2 siblings we have raise moral. Also PJ might have another run in him when the chips are on the table.

Do we have any path to acquiring Bruce Brown without mortgaging every asset we have? I would assume not but he’d be a really nice SG to start next to Dame and move Beasley to the bench role we all know he should be in.

Bruce Brown is not a player that requires "mortgaging assets".

Not really. The best option is find a team that values Bobby and Pat. Maybe a team like the Kings who would send back picks for them and send Toronto Huerter and Mitchell.

Can we get Alec Burks for nothing?

I’m watching the pistons announcers tonight :eyebrows: :eyebrows: :eyebrows: :eyebrows: :eyebrows:

Our best trade assets are basically Bruce Brown level players and we have very limited draft capital to make do with. I’d imagine a Bruce Brown trade would just about empty our “war chest” if we were able to. And I asked if there was a path to acquiring him without doing so in the 1st place.

Houston wants a shooter. Knicks want an offensive backup PG. Detroit wants to shed multi year contracts. Bulls want a player who could fill their weaknesses if they deal Caruso.

Houston
In: Beasley
Out: Bullock, 3-2nd round picks

Knicks
In: Payne, Rolo
Out: Flynn

Pistons
In: Beauchamp, Flynn, 3-2nds via Houston, 1- 2nd via
Milwaukee
Out: Stewart

Bulls
In: Stewart
Out: Caruso

Bucks
In: Caruso, Bullock
Out: Beasley, Payne, Rolo, Beauchamp, 2nd round pick

Bucks should sign Christain Koloko to a 2 way deal. He's not cleared medically to play yet, but the blank space next to 2 of our 2 way spots can't play either.

I don't see the Bulls moving Caruso for Beef Stew, and if they would, Pistons would surely find a higher bidder for Caruso in the draft asset department, IMO. Only way is a Bobby-centric package. I get banking on them being inept organizations, though.

MKE: Caruso, Craig, Vezenkov
SAC: Portis, Payne
CHI: Mitchell, Beauchamp, SAC '26 1st (lottery protected), PDX '24 2nd

Spitballing.

Beasley is untradeable right now ... the only reason we won so many games is that Beasley is replacing Khris scoring ... so no, Portis and Beasley are now too important for our team and on team friendly contracts... trading them will create problems that they are solving for us right now and people don't realize. (3p shooting, scoring, rebounds). A no blood fix for us as I said ... is benching Brook (start Portis) after the trade deadline if not traded. Additionally run Khris with the 2nd squad more and play Marjon or AJJ more with the starters. We need to get rid of the $****d drop defense immediately

Beas isnt going to shoot 47% from 3 for the year. Hes absolutely going to regress. His defense wont get better to compensate. Hes absolutely tradable, unless you dont think Khris will stay healthy

I think most of us just want another guard to be able to play different lineups not trade Beasley. Bobby though is really the only decent asset we have without blowing things up. His offense isn't needed and he's a turnstile on defense, we can find someone to grab some rebounds.

If Beasley had any value he'd be tradeable but he's a 1 year min deal so at best maybe he's a throw in with a bigger deal.

there are no decent assets on this team, thinking you're going to get upgrades that cover the massive holes on this team with just Bobby & Pat is just delusional. It needs to be blown up at this point, we're just in denial this core was dead before we ever got to see it together. Its not going to work with Griff and this roster, I don't think its going to work for Griff ever. Like does anybody think Brook is going to help us defensively in the playoffs at this point? Does anybody think Brook's non-chucking skills are finally going to be utilized? This team right now is going to need Lillard/Giannis/Khris putting up a combined 100 points to have a chance in the playoffs, they're talented enough to do it a couple times but on the way to a championship? Lets be real. Even if we acquired Caruso for free this team would still be garbage on defense.

look at the trade board on here, nobody wants our ****

Bruce Brown does a lot of those necessary role player things, and has some traits like pat: rebounds, hustles, cuts on time, isn’t afraid of the moment.

We’ve brought in a bunch of dudes who we thought would help, and then shriveled up in the playoffs once the physicality was boosted and the pressure was on: Mirotic, Marvin (probably unfair, since he was a buyout), Bobby to an extent, crowder last year, Bledsoe, etc.

Bruce Brown is like a better defending pat, and would clearly provide value to us; however, he’s not a good enough defender to cause teams to worry about him. I really just want a dude on the defensive end that will cause the other team to be fully aware of where he is on the court. We had that in Jrue, and I’d like to get someone who causes chaos on that end.

Our offense should be fine with the top-end talent we have either way.

Bruce Brown was a good deal when he was a MLE guy but not close enough of a needle mover to justify a $22M/y salary.

Jimmy Butler was fully aware of where Jrue was on the court in the playoffs.
