Re: 2024 NBA DRAFT THREAD
based on masai presser, they probably feel this a total wild card draft much like 2013
not top heavy but maybe some gems between 15-30

Agree, however I hope he doesn't trade away all of our picks in 2024. Need cheap rookies to fill our roster and take a risk on (e.g., a future Siakim).
I acknowledge and thank the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples of the Songhees, Esquimalt and W̱SÁNEĆ First Nations for allowing me to live, work and play on their unceded traditional territories.

Re: 2024 NBA DRAFT THREAD
I would be looking at young talent that is underutilized on other teams such as Moody, Dyson Daniels, AJ Griffin or Grimes. Other than Dyson these guys should come cheap. Moody and Grimes need to be paid soon and they are both disgruntled about their lack of playing time. AJ Griffin should be gettable for the 2nd round pick since they do not even pretend of pay him. Daniels gets some playing time when there are injuries but when fully healthy they have little use for him and they have shown they want to shed salary so I would trade him for TPE or an expiring (McDaniels) and the OKC/LAC pick.

Re: 2024 NBA DRAFT THREAD
They could always move them for future picks as well. If a team falls in love with someone at the Pacers pick, maybe they flip that for a 2025 pick. They could have 3 picks within 10 spots of each other, so it might make some sense to diversify.

That's exactly what I expect too. Greivis Vazquez all over again. He will stretch these assets as far as it can take him. Back to the Masai of old now that he's untangled himself from that loyalty to that championship team.

I'd love to see #27 turned into Moody, but you probably need a 3rd team who prefers the picks to Moody, like this:
Wizards - #27, GSW protected first, CP3
Warriors - Kuzma, McDaniels
Raptors - Moody
and the Warriors probably do this in concert with a Wiggins + picks for a guard move somewhere, like DeJounte Murray or Caruso and Pat Williams.
We're nicely set up with Quickley-Moody-Barrett-Barnes-Poeltl and Schroeder, Trent, Bruce Brown, Boucher and we probably draft a center now that Koloko is gone. Can also just move Bruce Brown for a pick somewhere too.
Where's the D?

Grimes in a smaller scale Kawhi situation and is ripe for the picking.
Really of the players you mentioned Grimes is the perfect choice. He has a quick first step and plays defense. Each of his first 2.5 seasons he's shot 38+% from 3. He can dunk in the half-court so better finisher than Trent.

We take Bronny with one of those picks and we make Lebronto official.

LeBron and Rich Paul will make sure Bronny goes to a certain team. That kid is so lucky. If his dad wasn’t who he is Bronny wouldn’t be on anyone’s radar.

He's not even the 3rd best player on his team. He'd normally have to stay 4 years and even then maybe a 2nd round pick and have to play in the G-League for a couple of years.

Re: 2024 NBA DRAFT THREAD
Considering Masai made the trade right after seeing Tidjane Salaun I looked for his tape and damn he’s impressive. Can definitely see the potential and I bet Masai likes him with his length and versatility

Re: 2024 NBA DRAFT THREAD
Also find these other 2 international top prospects very intriguing too. Alex Sarr looks like something a more mobile Jaren Jackson Jr. He moves very well for a 7’1” big. Looks like another unicorn
Also really like Risacher. Great shooter and quick release. High potential too
If we wind up keeping the pick, I hope we take one of the 4 star Euros. Sarr, Topic, Risacher, or Salaun. A big reason that this class is viewed as weaker (Givony said this a month ago) is due to the American HS class being weaker than recent years. The gems in this class are the international guys

I think he may end up out of our range like Coulibaly, but we do have the assets to move up.
I was glad to hear Masai sees this draft the same way I see it during his press conference. When asked if this was a weak draft, he referenced the 2013 draft with Giannis indicating that he didn't think it was weak, just that there was greater variability in evaluations which should benefit us having multiple picks.
This is the kind of draft where the best player may end up being picked in the teens.

I got that sense based on his answer. Not top heavy but there's hidden gems 10-30 and they'll try to make moves to target their guy on draft night
