If the best you can say about Troy Weaver is he hasn't put Detroit in a bad cap situation, then he's long past the point of needing to get fired. Besides there is still plenty of potential for him to reverse that cap outlook for Detroit I.E. a Zach Lavine trade.
The first will likely become 2 seconds. So that’s not as bad as it sounds. And he hasn’t signed Lavine, so you can’t ding him for that.
And if it becomes 2 seconds that will mean that Detroit will have been a lottery team for 7 consecutive seasons after Troy's "restoration."
Are you really going to try use that as some rationalization for Troy Weaver's terrible reign?
That comment was not about Weaver as much as the status of our draft picks. Yes, technically, we are down one, but it just isn't likely to convey.
As for Weaver being responsible for us not having a war chest of first rounders, we just didn't have much to trade to get first rounders. Black, Reggie Jackson, Drummond - we were just f--ked. But OKC had Paul George, CP3 - much better hand to start getting picks.
