That “UD” is in honor of the Heat’s front office.

I think its definitely true that they like the team as is. The team is consistently in the Finals, generates plenty money, and the fanbase is actually growing. Little reason for the team to freak out.

But I think there are other things at play. Namely, I think standing completely pat (pun intended) carries the risk of an unhappy Jimmy. And an unhappy Jimmy can get quite vocal. So I think we see the team do something to add a player of note to the roster. And by player of note it can be someone as "meh" as Dinwiddie. But some kind of name to fill a gap.

Murray can potentially be for Mia what Dipo was supposed to be.

Yep said this last night or the night before lol. Terry would also be a bigger offensive boost but worse defensively than we hoped for from Dipo

I value Rozier more just because my sense is that he’d be more of a consistent contributor during the playoffs

Merely my gut feeling tho

Would he? He's almost 30 and has had 6 20+ point games in the playoffs out of 50 playoff games with 29 of those games being 20+ minutes. He has the same issues as Herro does, they've not shown the ability to be consistent scorers in the playoffs. They have shown the ability to have good scoring games but Miami needs a more consistent scorer for the playoffs.

Is it possible he'd be a great fit in Miami with Spoelstra as the coach, absolutely but once again, he's not proven in the playoffs when teams have time to prepare for you.

Mr. "ONLY MIAMI" Chris Haynes. This also could be Atlanta putting pressure on teams dropping birdies to Haynes but of all teams atleast pick a realistic target with some semblance of assets. If we lose out to whatever garbage offer they give I might really throw in the towel of ever even thinking we would be able to consummate a trade ever with this organization

Based on the fact that Murray is a good defender (or at least, he's purported as such) this is unlikely to be true.

To be fair that was the 1st 4 seasons of his career where he was a bench player and he’s developed into a better player now. His 1 season as a starter in the playoffs (due to injury) he was 23 and averaged 17-5-6. Scoring efficiency could’ve been better but that’s better than any playoffs Herro has had.

I would feel pretty good about him here. I may lean Murray because of 2 way play but I do believe Rozier is the more explosive offensive player scoring wise.

Murray is available for cheaper than thought because he's a good, not great player. Atlanta will get nothing close to the three first round picks they sent the Spurs to acquire Murray less than two years ago. Stop and think about that before banging the table for a player like Murray...why has he become less expensive to acquire even though he's now entering his prime years?

because he's a less efficient scorer then Herro, and a good but not amazing defender.

He's kinda average overall, might become a top 10-13 PG in the league if Spo can maximize him, that's his absolute ceiling

The more I think about it. Spencer Dinwiddie seems like the likely target using Lowry contract and maybe opens the door for Tucker return
