Wonder if they ever do a segment like that for the Hornets, Heat, Thunder, any other team. It's sickening how the Lakers are like the home team of ESPN. Not much doubt they are the league's darling too.

It's nauseating and just aggravating. I'd love to distill my viewing to live mic feeds (all players) and hardcourt sounds. No commercials on court or on broadcast either. Just court sounds during breaks. I just want all the noise blocked out and I'm willing to pay for it too. Should maybe go the extra yard and get off here and Reddit too, but at least it's a bit more interesting. Just a bit.

I forget which poster here likes my old school stories. In the old ABA in the 70s, Bob Costas was a very young radio pbp guy for the legendary Spirits of St Louis. He tells a story of missing a flight to an away game, and for the first half all the audience back in St Louis heard was the squeaks and players yelling and the arena announcer giving the fouls and subs etc. He got there, did the second half, somehow didn't get fired.

The book Loose Balls, an oral history of the ABA by Terry Pluto, is a funny must-read for anyone in in basketball history.

Jack Armstrong has plugged that book on numerous occasions during a game. I need to give it a read.

Pluto is a Cleveland area writer. Also wrote another oral history, Tall Tales, about the NBA of the 60s - Wilt, Russell, Oscar, Baylor, West. Great stories.

Doris Burke is sickening how much she loves the Celtics. She's an awful analyst compared to former coaches like SVG.

Finals preview was great. Doris the celtic fan is unbearable. I really hate ESPN and their horrible commentators (except breen) and their new horrible theme song

the other thing that I fault Masai for not doing was getting a 3+D center. thats all you had to do with Siakam and FVV.

and second after that: getting shooters.

this entire forum knew that. it was so rediculous.

Yup that's why he had to break up the core, because he wasn't able get a stretch C and wing/guard shooters. He built such a bad bench that he had to make tear down moves.

he didn't wantt to give up 1 more pick for a guy like Turner but was okay for to give up one to Poeltl who doesn't fit with the team

sigh.

Pascal playing his best defense of the season, the effort on that side of the ball is way higher than it was with us. Good 1st Q from him

You make a good point.

He was trying to tie 2 visions -
1) graduating the bench mob (Fred, Siakam + Poeltl) + OG and building around a core led by Siakam
2) trying to get ahead of the nba with positionless 6'9" basketball

Vision 6'9" is not there yet. It was a bold move to try and do because the league went total offense and he went the other way hoping to teach them offense. It was just ugly basketball and no one developed

A Siakam-Fred-OG led core needed a stretch big and a guard that could score and get his own shot. But the coaching/selfishness really was issue.
