Mazzulla rarely makes in game adjustments something Brad was amazing at. Murray hit some really tough shots but at the same time if he hits like two shots in a row, you gotta change it up and give him a different look.

Saw it in the Heat series more specially game 2 when the Celtics were up 7 with 6 minutes before butler and Grant got in each others faces which resulted in butler taking over while the jays went soft.

The offense needs to run through white and Porzingis late. I’ve seen them hit a lot of big shots in close games and don’t seem rattled like the jays.

If we need to run late game offense through KP and White we are basically admitting we don’t have a number one guy.

I think Jaylen worked pretty hard on Murray but single covering him and switching was not going to work tonight.

Also Joe seemed asleep at the wheel the last 5 min. Why not challenge the KP offensive foul? (among other potential challenges) instead it just sat in his pocket

Joe just loves his timeouts and his threes. He keeps them close to his chest.

I am not a big fan of Malone but he is not afraid to use all his players or sit the ones who are struggling.
Edit: Extend Mazzulla

Tatum aint that guy in last shot situations. I have not seen it..and for the most part it's a terrible ISO shot.

Defense wasn’t the issue. After the Jokic hook shot we shut both guys down.

Well we might not in the clutch honestly. Tatum is more than capable when he drove to the hoop with a purpose like he did to cut the lead down to one. But too many times late in games, slowlyyyy walks the ball up the court, thinks for like 5 seconds when he gets the ball in the post instead of getting the ball and going. Does his predictable dribble dribble side step three brick. It’s just starting to get frustrating.

Porzingis ball in the post is probably the safest play and white with the ball always makes the right play. Rather just go with that then giving it to the jays and not feeling confident about it.

It sucks when I prepare a big exciting OP for a Celtics win and find highlights and etc and then I have to scrap it and write some dumb ish about a crappy loss everyone hates lol.

There is improvement in Joe. He now calls timeouts, rather than that "let them figure it out" nonsense. Only if he knew what to do in those timeouts

I don't know how we would fare against other teams from west in the finals, but I know that we cannot beat these guys with Joe. Nuggets are a well-oiled machine, working like a clock. To beat them 4 times, you need to do something creative. You need to distrupt their flow, you need to devise something on the offense they cannot defend. You need to do something extra. That's where Joe will collapse.

Can we talk about Jrue Holiday in big matchups?

2-8 7 points against okc gets cooked by shai on the other end

12 points 5-15 against Timberwolves

6 points 2-9 against bucks

7 points 3-7 against nuggets

He needs to step the **** up. If that was Marcus smart, people would be trashing him. I expect more

Bottomline, Nuggets were able to slow down our stars. We couldn't slow down theirs.

And this new one player would do what with 1 shot attempt while watching the jays. Take most of them?

Hauser shoots over 40% on 3’s and got ONE shot while the J’s on 3’s shoot…well, look it up. It isn’t pretty.

It’s like having a poor man’s Korver on the team but never giving him shots. If Hauser isn’t shooting, why play him? But he doesn’t deserve the blame for this one. Not at all. I’ve said it a thousand times but he’s making the least money of any player playing over 800 minutes this year. Anything he gives us is gravy because he’s paid like a 2-way player.

If he can’t handle the late game execution we are screwed. We ain’t winning a chip running the offense through our 3rd and 4th option.

Something is wrong with the way this team operates. On a night JB wreaked, Jrue was off, and Tatum sub-par, the Q4 offense ran thru Tatum and Brown. Meanwhile, on a night Kornet, Pritch and Hauser were 3-5, they only got 5 shots in 36 minutes of action. Someone has to ALLOCATE THEM more shots when they are on and JB, Jrue and Tatum need a bushel instead of a basket. The plays the Celtics DIDN"T run the last 4 minutes that they could have run makes me think that Joe is napping.

An alternative view:

Pts + Rebounds + (0.5 x Assists) + Steals + (0.5 x Blocks) - Missed Field Goals - (0.5 x Missed Free Throws) - Turnovers - (0.5 x Fouls)

+22.5 Kristaps Porzingis 36 minutes
+20.5 Derrick White 35 minutes

+18 Jayson Tatum 39 minutes
+12.5 Al Horford 27 minutes
+6.5 Luke Kornet 8 minutes

+5.5 Jrue Holiday 28 minutes
+4 Payton Pritchard 12 minutes

+2 Jaylen Brown 35 minutes
-0.5 Sam Hauser 16 minutes

I mean... have we ever run a last minute play for DW? Ever?
