The painful truth about the Jazz is, that Mavs could have Markkanen for very cheap. He was 1 on of the few players, who wanted to be traded to Mavs.

It's worse...
They could've signed him outright, they had the cap space, and CHI had to go into tax to match, something they don't do, but they prefered retaining THJ + signing Bullock.

They were affraid he was another KP...to be fair,he did have a lot of injuries but still,it was worth the gamble...should have, would have, could have...they made the same mistake when they could have gotten Randle for cheap, but everybody was screaming Randle is bad...well, he's a lot better than any other Mavs PF since Dirk(his Best years, not the last)

Even without the injuries, Cavs had him for a full year and still traded him, today he's better the Mitchell IMO.

They may not be a sure PO team, but they'll cling on play in seeding very tight.

If Kleber was too much to pay, then I understand they didn't use the cap space. Markkanen and Brunson and we wouldn't need to trade for Kyrie and would have had DFS and FRPs, which we could use for top athletic wing or C. Basically having contender. FO just did too many big mistakes.

Difference was that Markkanen was extremely cheap, KP wasn't. So there was 0 risk.

Siakam trade looks decent for Pacers. He is not my favorite player, but hey, seeing all those frontcourt players going around kinda brings up that FOMO.
Aaron Gordon really helped Jokic's Denver. Siakam is probably not that good of defender/rebounder but he is taller than kyrie-THJ.

*Mavs started 23-17 last year,
*Now we are 24-17.

I do not think we'll go down again if Luka-Lively stays healthy. Luka-Lively together is 19-8.
Team doesn't look like a contender right now. Need a solid frontcourt. Most fan bases wants to avoid Kyrie and probably GMs doesn't want him either. So a trade with THJ+filler+picks may be the only package to absorb a frontcourt player with $30m contract.
Wish Mavs had our PG13 or sth.

If we kept the Brunson, we could've used the FRPs for Siakam trade similar to Pacers. Bargain DFS contract would probably stay.

Then again Kyrie trade was a disaster which lucked us into Lively

And apparently we are 20-10 when lively is playing. That dude was a godsend for this team

Rumors said Murray to Lakers for Russell, Hood Schiffino and 1 FRP... So only Mavs can't make good trades.

No way Atlanta does that. A Russell-Young backcourt would be disastrous.

Murray posting on IG about Miami, that makes much more sense . They have a lot to offer

Id be stunned if the Lakers end up acquiring anyone better than Lavine with their limited assets. If I were a GM, I would view D'Lo as possibly the least appealing player in the entire league aside from maybe Christian Wood.

Even LaVine is a target off their reach... Russell has 0 trade value.

The only Laker could interest the league is Reaves, other not named LeBron or David are just role players.

Yeah, doubt Atlanta takes that...MIA can offer more,Jović,Lowry expirings and picks...or maybe he goes back to SAS,they give back two(instead of the three picks)..Murray will probably get moved,Kuzma too,Grant and Lavine probably stay on their teams

Kuzma is long and he has talent but he is still a 6th man on a contender team (just like in Lakers title), yes without FRPs i'm ok to trade for him...

Yeah, I don't think Siakam made Indy a contender...Haliburton is good,a star, but I don't get why everybody is calling him a superstar...Listen, the league has the most talent than ever probably, but not everyone having good stats is a superstar...there are many stars in the league but few superstars...Haliburton is a star,I mean Look at his Play in the WC...it was nothing special, actually rather poor

Bucks will probabely beat the Pistons, but watching them this year made appreciate coach Bud and Jrue Holiday.

Scary Terry to the Heat.

Likely first of many moves by the Hornets.

One first and yet somehow Nets want two for Dodo

Good deal for the Heat...I don't expect Mavs to make anything substantial, everybody knows they're desperate for a SF,PF and a backup C and they're gonna jack up the price....not much value they can get this trade deadline...maybe they can get someone like KJ Martin, Jalen Mcdaniels type, some size of the bench
