I'm willing to bet Tatum won't catch Lebron.
EDIT: Okay, JT's ended last night.

JT still has a shot to win MVP this season.
Embiid might not qualify because minimum requirement for games played is 65 games.
So far Embiid has already missed 10 games.
If JT plays great the rest of the way, he could win it.

This stat just says to me he takes terrible pull up 3s.
He's # 1 because even though he only hits 30%, given the quality of the shots the average player would shoot a far worse %
In other words, he still needs to shoot better quality pull up 3s

That makes a lot of sense. Same goes with JB.

Nice to see the Celtics franchise player take Jayson Tatum under his wing.

Re: Jayson Tatum Thread: All-NBA, 2023 (PotM - Oct/Nov, 2023)
Last night was a perfect example. This team’s championship hopes rest with Jason Tatum. It’s great that Brown has figured some things out. It’s great that Holiday is shaking off the slow start and asserting himself on offense. The improved play of Pritchard and the agelessness of Horford is great. White flirting with all star status and Porzingas being a defensive rim protector has all been awesome. However, this team ultimately goes as far as their superstar can take them. Last night we win if he makes the big time clutch shots and they didn’t fall. With the way he has been playing lately that was surprising but as long as he keeps taking them and learns to create better opportunities for himself and others when the game is on the line, the better the team’s chances will be.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Re: Jayson Tatum Thread: All-NBA, 2023 (PotM - Oct/Nov, 2023)
He's missed a few potential game winners this season but as of a year ago he was basically the most clutch player in NBA history.
I made a thread about it on the GB last Feb if anyone wants a refresher...
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2270485
Only player in NBA history to shoot over 50% on game-tying or go-ahead field goals in the last 24 seconds of the 4th quarter. Jayson Tatum shoots 51.7% FG on clutch shots, ranking 1st out of 155 players attempting 25+ FGs to tie or take the lead in the final 24 seconds since 1996.
Most game-tying or go-ahead baskets in the final 5 seconds of the 4th quarter or overtime in the last 5 seasons (9). Additionally, since his rookie season, he has hit 11 such shots in the last 5 seconds of a game, the most in the NBA in that span.
Etc etc.
Those number have dropped a wee bit since then but in the meantime he did set an NBA record with 51 points in a Game 7.

I really want to see those numbers split out by when he was coached by Brad vs. Ime vs. Joe.

Not sure if Jayson Tatum can ever reach that tier 1 Superstar. He is bellow that. Great player, just not sure he is someone who can lead us to a championship.

Too inconsistent and unreliable for it to be a main go-to weapon.

It usually takes a major defensive breakdown for Tatum to be very open.
Banned temporarily for, among other sins, being "Extremely Deviant".
