I honestly think he's on to something.. Maybe that's the reason why we traded Siakam for expirings and not young guys because we didn't want any money back.. If this actually happens it would be insane! Maybe we just have another free agent in mind but OG fits what we need I guess LOL Maybe this could be the payback for Knicks trying to sue us.

Less than 2% to happens but it was a fun watch.

I could see his narrative. Some interesting points. There is a very small world where this happens.

It just below 1% or 2%. Maybe even less.

But technically not impossible and less unlikely than bringing Siakam back.

Let’s say NY got an early playoff exit
Let’s say O.G and Knicks don’t agree on the terms.
Let’s say O.G is sub par in playoffs
Let’s say Raptors have cap space to beat any team
Let’s say he miss Toronto

Very unlikely but…. i could see a world where this happens. A very small world though.

I don't think this happens but a leaked fake plan to offer him max in the offseason is not out of the question if we have a pathway to the space. Make the Knicks pay that man!

no rules against it. Just seems highly improbable. I do think we are collecting capspace and picks though. But more likely for a trade, maybe making a run at a younger FA.

Technically we can because the summer counts as next season.

Heck we could max out Siakam if we wanted to as well

Reason we traded OG was he would be overpaid for what he brings. Why would we overpay him to sign him. If anything it makes more sense Siakam back. At least his salary will be close to the max and can justify the slight overpay.

Not sure. There is the Ilgauskas rule, can't re-sign a player you traded for a year if the acquiring team released him. Is there another rule applicable?

Overpaying an asset is one thing

Overpaying while robbing them IQ, RJ, Det pick would be quite a coup. Albeit an unlikely to happens one.
