Re: 76ers 2023-24 Season Thread Part 1
There are multiple rumors that Morey wants Tyus Jones, but he would only be willing to give up one or two second round draft picks.
Tyus is a good Guard, very quiet and organises well, but he's a 6'1" 196 lbs player, and I don't think he'd fit in very well with Maxey in the minutes they share.
What do you think? Defensively we wouldn't be too weak?

Tyus Jones doesn't fit here. Find a bigger guard to fit with Maxey please.

I agree with you. I would imagine he would only be taking Pat Bev minutes, which I can't imagine being too much in the POs. Probably would let Maxey play a few less minutes. Worth a 2RP or two, but that's it.Doramas wrote:There are multiple rumors that Morey wants Tyus Jones, but he would only be willing to give up one or two second round draft picks.

Im not up for trading a first round draft pick for Tyus Jones personally. I dont see the need Pat Bev has been better then I thought and Im going to assume Melton will be back eventually. You wont get him for two seconds. He is probably good enough to start for the Sixers but do we really want a tiny back court like that going forward? If you can get either Bogdanovich for a 1 and matching salary id rather do that. If you can get Murray for two firsts Id rather do that. In summary plenty of things Id rather do then add a small point guard good player or not.

So I'm seeing Herb Jones is available? Very interesting name for us to pursue, imo.

One of the few names I’d go hard for at this deadline. Perfect 3&D wing to help us match up with Boston.
I’d also welcome Tyus Jones if only to get Maxey’s minutes down to 33-35 per game post ASG.

I'm guessing they don't trust his shooting and they want to clear the way for Trey Murphy to play 30+ mpg going forward.
Still pretty dumb for one of the best teams in the West to trade a strong role player who is locked up in a team-friendly multiyear contract. We should be all over that.

That's very clearly his logic. Hopefully he doesn't wait too late. Because I'm sure the price is up on Murray and the 2 guests he'll end up in NY (1 of them).
Though there is hope for all the 2nds and Lavine definitely should be all 2nds for DeRozan

I think Alec Burk should be on our radar. A tall combo guard with 1 year. Can come off the bench and get buckets , or even play next to Maxey . Another ball handler with some size and playmaking ability fills a obvious need .

Gross, also he'll never get here, he'll go to Europe first before reporting to us.
Also, if that's our move, lol...

Herb Jones would be a great pickup. His willingness to shoot it is the only real question but everything else is a great fit.
Not really interested in Tyus but another guard would be welcomed.

Getting ready for the free agent signing of Isaiah Hartenstein, Miles Bridges and Tyus Jones in the upcoming FA.

Bridges would actually be perfect if he wasn't such a POS.
