if they somehow hit the lottery and get a top 3 pick we lose it and it becomes a 2nd
2 seconds but regardless, the chances of that are absurdly low unless the Pacers go on a historic losing streak.
To put this into perspective, we have a 30-% chance of keeping our pick with the 7th odds. The Pacers, if they ended up as the 10 seed (where the Hawks are), would have 14.5% odds of keeping their pick - and a 5.7% chance of giving up the 4th pick in the draft.
Rarer things have happened i.e. D-Rose Bulls, Webber Magic (though that pick got traded for 3 picks and Penny Hardaway on draft night if I recall). But I would not want to be the Pacers if i'm in the lottery.
